About this listen

My quest for answers is what’s led me here. Here, to the edge of civilization, where shifters are free from persecution and able to live in peace. Or at least they were until I arrived. In the aftermath of the trouble I brought, one man holds the answers I seek so desperately.

Whether he will part with his secrets, that’s another matter.

This world is not what I always thought it to be, and someone is doing their best to kill us all; when accidents continue to happen, I must consider the possibility that someone I love is setting me up. With the fate of the world at stake, I must face the demons of my past or risk being consumed by them. But this time, I’m not alone.

I'm Kit Davenport, and this is going to leave a mark.

Lord I love this series!

I absolutely love how instead of very other chapter a man reads the men’s parts and a woman reads the females, Very clever. Took a little to get used to that, had listened to lots of books but this is the first that I’d heard “cast” it that way. Now I wish all books did it! In this book FINALLY she has a true moment of pure passion with the tiger. I’m not going to say more than that cause I don’t want to give spoilers! But I’m doing a happy dance over here. Ok on to book 4 🖤

Fantastic Narration

The book has an extensive and exciting plot. The narration is off the charts. Love both voices.

Another great addition

I’ve said it before but I love this series. The narrator is exactly what I had hoped for these books and I can’t wait for more!

Who to trust??

Kit successfully bonded to one of her mates but with the other 5 still needing to get control of their powers it may be a while before they all bond. Some big surprises in this book including the resurfacing of Peyton and Bridget.

once again another outstanding book by Tate James, this book has it all suspense , drama, and so much more and wow are the sex scenes extremely hot, I need a cold shower now LOL. I love the narration honest buck it is truly outstanding I love how a female is narrating the female parts of the book and a male steps in doing a male parts of the book.

Story: Just to recap, here are the characters - Kit, River, Caleb (nice twin), Austin (mean twin), Cole, Wesley, Vali. This book was good but I did not love it. Frankly, the characters annoyed me a bit. Kit is very bold and upfront about things for the most part but in this book she was so hesitant to talk about her relationship with the guys. After people keep getting hurt near Kit and she ran into people near death, I felt like Kit should have put the pieces together. Maybe this is all a ploy for her to change people. It wasn't just her, none of the guys figured it out either. Why River didn't let Kit heal him when he was injured was beyond me. He's the team leader and needs to be on top of his game and able to protect Kit.

Austin is still a jerk. He continues to be one at every opportunity. He's always invading her space. He walks into bedrooms without permission, interrupts her with the rest of the guys, and always has to talk mess. If you don't like a person, just leave them be. At the party, his ex arrived and then he just let Kit go off on her own when she'd just healed someone and was weak. Then he has the nerve to say that she’s teased him since day one. I don’t like when someone blames the other person for their attraction for them. It’s not her fault he wanted her. The torture was a bit much for me. How much can a person take before they crack. How she could have had sex with multiple broker ribs I also don't really get. I feel like every time they think they have their stuff together, they failed. I'm not really sure how I'm feeling about this series. I'm not sure whether I want to know what happens next or not.

Narration: Marnye Young, Matt Haynes - The narration was good. I liked the way it was a duet so the woman narrated all of the women parts and the guy did all the men's. I've only seen this a few times but I love it.

Great

Love the story both written and on audio. Kit is a great MC and the narrator really brings her to life. Highly recommend

Much much better

I'm glad I have stuck with this series as long as I have. This is the first book so far that I have truly enjoyed. the character development is a lot better and the story is getting really interesting. I hope the rest are as good as this one.

Meh...

I don't know what happened, but towards ch. 23 the MC got a tad bit annoying. Her bouts with Austin was getting old and her stubbornness was just silly. Overall the book was pretty good, but the MC really had me rolling my eyes at points.
