About this listen

After too many years of unfulfilling work, Bronnie Ware began searching for a job with meaning. Despite having no formal qualifications or experience, she found herself working in palliative care. During the time she spent tending to the needs of those who were dying, Bronnie's life was transformed. Later, she wrote a blog post about the most common regrets that the people she had cared for had expressed to her. The post gained so much momentum that it was viewed by more than three million people worldwide in its first year. At the request of many, she now shares her personal story. By applying the lessons of those nearing their death to her own life, Bronnie developed an understanding that it is possible for everyone, if they make conscious choices, to die with peace of mind. The Top Five Regrets of the Dying: A Life Transformed by the Dearly Departing is a delightful memoir and a courageous, life-changing audiobook that will leave you feeling more compassionate and inspired to live the life you are truly here to live.©2012 Bronnie Ware (P)2017 Bolinda Publishing Grief & Loss New Thought Personal Success Inspiring Heartfelt Thought-Provoking

Good message, selfish delivery

Can absolutely get behind the concept of the book, but it's 25% discussion on the regrets, and 75% biography of the author. Disappointing.

the lessons learned along the journey

while death is not my focus because of my beliefs of immortality. it was a refreshing way to gain lessons for living. the voice, the stories shared. i could actually enter into the places and see the people and places being discribed .
i will recommend as it was by someone in a group im in this year.

insightful, Relevant, and Applicable

this is a great story of an everyday person's life, told in a way that really helps us think about our lives and what is important. And what is not.

Life changing

I never have experienced such powerful words and profound inspiration after reading any book. This one is a life changer. I see the light now, and never in even one thousand years could I ever see anything but the true light that shines within me. I'd recommend this book to everyone, although the reader must be ready to fully understand and embrace the opportunity to decide to see your own light and therefore begin living from such a loving place. After all we ARE love.

Different perspective

This book is as much about personal growth and happiness as it is about the regrets of the dying. Wonderfully refreshing and positive. I did not agree with the author’s eastern spiritualism, but I still found things to learn that were helpful to me.

Really introspective

Let me say first off that I couldn’t believe that Lebro’s son “Bronny” had written a book about him caring for elders, his life, and what he’s learned. Lol. Bronny was great, she did a wonderful job narrating the book. This was the type of book where I’m glad that the writer narrated it because I always feel like some books of this “ilk” of you will, should never be read by anyone but the author themselves. It was very much the type of experience where I felt I understood her (Bronny), her heart, and the type of person she was very early on in the book. It was such a good book really! Perfectly paced, easy to understand, and there was no unnecessary fillers in there where the author spends 29 pages describing the backside of a shed in the middle of the woods.
This was a book that I really wanted to hold onto and was always well-aware of where I was in terms of completing it. I didn’t want it to end. She has lived the type of life I would love to have lived! What she did was something I WISH I had the know-how, the guidance, and the guts to jump into as a younger guy. Are you kidding me? Just traveling the land, working odd jobs to keep the wheels turning, like a leaf in the breeze-adrift aimlessly and landing whenever God sees fit. Taking care of all those patients must have been a real task, not for everyone, and although I hope to someday donate my time to the elderly I’m sure it was incredibly hard work to take the “tough parts” in exchange for these amazing friendships she was able to make. This type of “thing” has always interested me…caring for the dying. This book was all of that. She did a perfect job of removing the challenging parts these caregivers have to draw the curtain for. Just enough was told. The important part is the ppl and all they had to say. How the patients received Bronny at their 1st greeting, how each person was able to let their guard down enough to really tell her what they were pondering in the final chapter of their life. Some opened up easier than others of course, but each person had a wonderful story about their lives and how they lived, what message they wanted to pass on the most. All poignant and at the same time different and personal.
This book is just what you’re looking for if you’ve read this far into my review. It’s as good as its publisher claims, but so much better. It left an impression on me for sure. A book that I will surely draw from in my own life going forward. She did THAT good of a job with this.

Yeah but what about those five regrets again?

Reads too much like an autobiography of the author versus being focused on the individuals dying with wisdom to share.
