I enjoyed listening to this story from beginning to end. or always kept me guessing what was going to happen next. The actor who reads it does a very nice job... never a dull moment.

loved it!

A lovely read with memorable characters. Narrator sounded the same for all the young society ladies, deeper voiced for the elders, and snooty for the solicitor and the land agent. Once I got accustomed to the narrator's voice, William, whom the author depicts so gentlemanly, shows his firey temper when provoked. Narrator did a nice job with William. Overall, enjoyed the book but will look for different narrator in future. Sorry.

Delightful story

Joanna Barker’s heroines are stalwart and witty, although a little insecure when challenged by the upper-crust of the day. Perfect heroines for the Regency era, although they do push the envelope a bit. Daring to be self sufficient, learning beyond what was acceptable for a wife and much deeper in care for all of society’s stations, sometimes to a fault.

That being said, Juliana is just such a character. Forced to go it alone, not believing she could have her one and only dream, not thinking there could be even more, and fearful of what her certain future would bring. A genuine, lovely woman who should certainly have it all.
The story sends her on to Havenfield and it is there…

The audiobook is well-done with a few slips in and out of character, however, I enjoyed listening, especially to the singing, coughing and laughing. I would definitely listen again.

This book is suitable for teens and older with no inappropriate intimate scenes and no bad language.

It was a nice plot and I enjoyed the book but the reader had an interesting accent that didn’t sound right. And the plot was a little slow but overall I enjoyed it.

Good book but a little slow

I enjoyed the development of relationships between the characters and the efforts each one took to preserve their own truths and clear up any misunderstandings! Oh how I wish people would take more time together to have those connecting conversations!! This story also told of the determination to have dreams and also the valuable benefit of having people/ family around to encourage and support, to fulfill the dream.

Truth prevails again! Genuine relationships, nourished with kindness, love, and consistent effort.

It’s been a long time where I’ve enjoyed a story where I’ve invested my time since time is so precious. I loved the main characters. I laughed, smiled and cried. That to me makes a story, when one can immerse oneself into the world the author created and true care about the main characters. The narrator was wonderful. They can either make or break an audible book. All I can say is thank you. I would love to read your other works. Keep writing, please.

Amazing story!
