About this listen

Age is just a number.

Just like he's just a boy, and I'm just a girl.

Except that's not true, is it?

Because 15 may be a number, but it's bigger than that. Bigger than us.

It's a number that separates us.

An excuse that keeps us apart.

But I'm not willing to give in until I get what I want.

After all, how many other girls can bring a grown man to his knees with one little smile?

Good, but end was rushed so a little disappointed

Good story. Realistic. Reminds me of a similar healing story as in Still Beating. But, I felt like that connection at the end was too rushed and surface. Also, no accountability for him at the end. Didn’t resonate with me.

It was…

I went to the beginning a lot, but in the middle it just got strange and I really didn’t like the male narrator

Interesting but very sad

This was a good story. Not as good as the one before it in the series. Not outstanding but worth a credit.

Enjoyed

This is my first book by this author and I enjoyed it. It was a well written age gap, angst, drama, forbidden romance.

Emotionally driven

There are people that come into your life and just fit. Charley has had a horrible childhood, and finally has found a family that loves her. Adopted as a teenager, she has some issues that even her new parents can't help her with. Ollie, her "uncle" though has a way about him, and she is drawn to him. He too has his own set of problems, and seeks solace with Charley. With an age-gap that would cause some issues, these two find themselves in a quandary. Does love truly have boundaries? B Celeste takes us on their journey of healing, self discovery and true love. It's not an easy listen, but it draws you in, and makes you feel. Parts are horrifying, others are heart warming, with the realization of what life has to offer. Family, age gap, friendships and music all play a huge part in this and it's a story that will stay with you.

Heather Costa and Jeffrey Kafer. What a team. Costa plays Charley with all the emotional deprivation this poor girl has. She makes you hurt, and love, and feel frustrated and sad. It's all there with her voice! Kafer comes in as Ollie, with a love he holds back. You can feel how frustrated he is, and how hard he struggles. It's a fantastic narration that enhances this emotional story.

Pulls on the heartstrings

Getting over life traumas requires someone special. What are you supposed to do when your someone special is twice your age? Great story about 2 people going through completely different yet life changing situations. Will love prevail against all the odds? I felt so much heartache over this story and hope you will too!

Great story!

Taboo? Yes. Age gap? Oh yeah. Forbidden? Most definitely. All of that lead to a beautifully written tale of Charlie and Ollie’s love. Celeste definitely know how to write a story regarding mental health battles. I loved seeing their connection and how they both grew into better people. Celeste brings out all the emotions. I didn’t quite connect with the female narrator for Charlie, but the male narrator fit Ollie and played him well. Well done to all.

It should be wrong but?

Charley is a young woman that has been through a lot in her young life. She is one of the lucky one’s she has been adapted as a teenager by loving couple but because of her past she has problems sleeping. The only person who seems to get through to her is Ollie her best friend who is much older and family. Not going to ruin this story but I loved the Charley recognizes that she has problems and she works to get better. This was my first book by this author and I can’t wait to read more from her in the future.

Truthfully Captivating!

Charlie and Ollie, she’s young, he not so much, their bond so special, so beautiful, yet so taboo. The Truth About Tomorrow is a beautifully written, magnificently narrated age-gap love story with characters so well developed and so realistic, that I would have no trouble believing that somehow, somewhere, this story really happened. The plot was very well done, with both the characters’ inner and spoken dialogue clearly moving the story forward and giving insight to the characters state of mind and feelings. It all felt so real, and thanks to absolutely brilliant narration, I felt so connected to the characters, and the story, that I didn’t want to stop listening. Kudos to the author for the beautiful handling of what could have been been sensitive subject matter, I was perfectly at ease with the story. And those epilogues, perfection! No spoilers here! I loved everything about this one! Five stars!
