About this listen

Making friends is hard when you live forever.

When college student Kaylah Rhodes begins experiencing unexplained blood and memory loss, she suspects that she is the unwitting victim of a vampire. But meeting the vampire William Moore was nothing like what Kaylah expected. He is shy, socially awkward, and seems surprisingly normal for someone who drinks blood to survive

William offers to tell her the story of his un-life under the condition that she lets him drink her blood. However, the more Kaylah learns about William, the more questions she has. There are some secrets that the quiet vampire refuses to share. As the horrors of William’s past come back to bite him, Kaylah finds herself caught in the middle of a dangerous game. William Moore is not the only monster in town she has to worry about.

A story about the trials of friendship, the dangers of stereotypes, and what it means to be a monster.

Wonderful Reading of Vampire Satirical Romance

The narration by Emily Rahm works fantastically here. Having read the book before listening to the audio book, the voice used for Kayla just sounds perfect. Some of the more emotional parts really feels like a satisfying performance rather than just somebody reading a book. Emily really brings Kayla (and many other characters) to life in her performance of the un-life.

Being somebody that typically reads fantasy novels and isn't too much into romance this book surprised me with how different it portrayed romance. At first, it may seem like another romance novel, but once you get properly introduced to William you realize he isn't a normal vampire. You like your vampires with social anxiety? This book has you. It is even presented in an entertaining way that makes it relatable.

Another point that I really appreciate about the book is the immortality aspect of... Well most things immortal. If you wish to preserve some sort of humanity, its very lonely. People you know and love will fade away as you keep going. Its refreshing to see vampirism shown as what it is, a curse.

Dana has a great way with words, a story, and developing believable characters. I sure hope to see work from her in the future.

Great Story!!

This is not your typical vampire story. I enjoyed the differences in the interactions of this story. I loved the ending. It definitely took me by surprise. The narrator does abgreat job telling the story! I look forward to more books by Dana Lockhart.

Medium-paced, charming, and unique

This was a very unique novel with a surprisingly regular cast of characters despite the paranormal/supernatural element. I found the storytelling charming and the narration lovely. I would love to explore more works form this author.

Not your typical vampire story

I loved how we got a different look at vampirism, as Kaylah unraveled what was going on.

Dana Lockhart is a great storyteller. I was drawn in to the story immediately and really felt for the characters. What a perfect ending!

Emily Rahn is a new narrator to me, and I really enjoyed her performance.

I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and I have voluntarily left this review.

A Great Story From A Great Storyteller

The Un-Life of William Moore is a good story. It grew on my over the couple times I have read it. Every time allowing me to see something more in the characters, I had never noticed the time before. However this audiobook version is the way it should be consumed. The story is told from Kaylah's perspective. Instead of reading a story being told to me, having Emily Rahm read this to me felt as if Kaylah was speaking to me. The pick of Emily was a great choice by Dana as in my mind Kaylah's voice matched that which Emily produced. This really immersed me into the story like never before. This is a great story told by a great storyteller that everyone should listen to.

love this book

I really hope there will be a second book! I love the view on vampires they are more scary than the movies yet actually most of them have a soft spot and are not as strong as you would typically think vampires are especially when the hunger takes over! I highly recommend this book. * I received this free audio book for an honest review *
