About this listen

He kept his salacious secret for years. But soon, everyone is going to be reading about it in their morning paper…

THE VARLET (and the VOYEUR) William Moore is a long way from home. A farm boy from Oklahoma, he’s now the most well-respected member of the Irish rugby team. But appearances are often deceptive, and Will isn’t the clean-cut, all-American good-guy everyone imagines him to be. He’s got a secret, one that will tarnish his reputation forever.

THE VOYEUR (and the VARLET) Josey Kavanagh is a self-proclaimed mess, but she’s finally get her shi…uh, act together. She’s set her sights on becoming a veterinarian, but there’s one teeny tiny road bump. Her living arrangements are coming to an abrupt end, leaving Josey homeless and in need of a job to pay her way through college.

THE PLAN What he needs is a companion to keep him on the right path. What she needs is an apartment with free rent. Will is convinced Josey will make the perfect companion, since she’s brutally honest and basically ‘just one of the guys.’ Josey is convinced she can ensure Will doesn’t succumb to his voyeuristic proclivities by keeping a scrupulous eye on him. Except, what happens when the varlet is tempted by the voyeur, and vice-versa?! Perchance something very, very volatile. And vexing.

The Varlet and the Voyeur is a full-length romantic comedy novel, can be listened to as a standalone, and is the 4th (and last) book in the USA TODAY bestselling Rugby Series.

Interesting storyline and characters

I was a little blown away by the storyline. The honesty and integrity of the MMC and the fact that so much was from his point of view was refreshing. Great job by the authors and narrators. Although I loved the male narrator, there could be a little improvement made in differentiating voices of characters. I would recommend this book. ❤️

American in Dublin

An American in Dublin instead of Paris, but all the sweetness of an Oklahoma country boy in the giant Irish Rugger body. Two slightly odd, quirky people coming together in a way that was destined from the start, but with unexpected challenges. So much love for the whole Irish rugby series and I wish there were 20 more so I could live in the universe a little longer. Love to both LH Cosway and Penny Reid for putting this awesomeness out there in the world.

Thank you for re recording

I loved this book enough to buy it back when it was first released despite the terrible reader. Having it re recorded with a better female reader has made me so happy! Now it's a great story read by people whom don't make you irritated.

Good story-A few narrator Issues

Things were very good with narration until the first epilogue. it sounds like a different woman and it sounds like she's reading on her phone. The audio quality sucks and her reading of the content is pretty awful. Honestly, it completely disrupts the "zone" you're in up to that point. Comparatively, the original female narrator does a great job throughout the rest of the book.

As for the overall story, this one is steamy and sweet. I love Will and Josie together!

Erotica

I hope I spelled it right. Penny Reid is one of my favorite authors right next to Susan Wiggs. I so wish that as a descriptor they would have added erotica, because there's a lot of it in this book, and it's just not my thing. It just seemed like that was the majority of the book(more so towards the end, with hints throughout) and yes there was a storyline, But I usually always fast forward through the erotica stuff in her other books which is not a lot thank goodness. So it's just not my cup of tea, and I will continue to buy and finish up her series of the City knitters and The Winston Brothers because I never tired of listening to them over and over. They are so full of character development, pearls of wisdom, and humor w so many twists and turns that are realistic and educational along with such wit and humor that is just incredible. I couldn't believe all that wisdom comes from one person. So again if erotica is your thing as well as a explanation of the little quirk that the rugby guy had I'm sure you will enjoy it.❤️
