About this listen

From the top 50 bestselling author of The Village Shop For Lonely Hearts

Scandal-hit party girl Lucy Conway needs to leave London fast.

She packs her bags and escapes to the sleepy village of Cranbridge to take care of her beloved Uncle Frank.

But the country village isn’t quite as idyllic as she remembers. To make matters worse, her Uncle’s pride and joy, The Cranbridge Times, is close to going out of business.

Editor-at-large Tom Addison is having a crisis of confidence and needs help if the newspaper is going to survive.

With time on her hands, can Lucy work some magic and together save the family newspaper?

Over a long, hot summer, friendships are made and hearts begin to heal. And, with the help of a stray dog, perhaps Lucy and Tom can find their very own new beginning...

A heartwearming listen perfect for fans of Holly Martin and Cathy Bramley.

This book and this village are both so cute! I can tell that the author is a fan of The Vicar of Dibley, one of my favorite shows - there are a couple of nods to the show in this story. I recommend this series.

Reminds me of Dibley

I live in a small town/agricultural/unincorporated area east of Seattle. And there is a river that runs through my little town so this series resonates with me. The local businesses, in particular the grocery store, taverns, restaurants, antique shops and church are yards away from the river’s edge. While listening to the books, I envisioned the characters in my community and I love it. I enjoyed this book even more because of “Keith” we had a rescue/re-homed dog that could have been him. I have listened to 2/4 books so far and I love them all, excited to finish the others. This is a feel good, funny, love & friendship, family and community - great series of books.

I do hope if the author has a dog that she takes him to the vet and feeds him proper healthy dog food! 😉

Very cute follow up to first story

It shows you that not everyone is the same and how some people perceive you might not be who you are at all. Be yourself every part that makes you, you. Don’t try to be someone that others want you to be.

Sweet Romance
