An illusionist goes to Spain with a friend. His friend informs him of a person pretending to be Emanuel (another friend). The mysterious impostor is holding the real Emanuel hostage. The imposter sends letters with secret codes to the illusionist, giving clues where to find Emanuel. The illusionist and his friend have no idea who the imposter is, so they go to the place the imposter told them to find Emanuel. But on the way, they meet a mysterious boy whose mother is dead and father is lost (or dead…no one knows). The boy suspects the friend of the illusionist to be the imposter. The boy joins the illusionist and his friend on their journey. On the way, they experience, mountain climbing, water parks, massage centers, luxury hotels, and more! But the illusionist is also starting to suspect the friend. Are they on the right path to find the imposter, or was the imposter with him the whole time?

A mystery set in Spain, The Vision is a story about three friends going up against an imposter to save their friend. It is easy to read and I particularly enjoy the decoding parts.

One thing that could have helped the book is context setting. I felt the story jumped into action too fast. A lot of context went unexplained - why is Marco the illusionist? Where the the car come from? It is probably okay for a YA mystery, but I wasn’t clear if it was meant for adults or YA.
