About this listen

After 12 years, the headstrong Annabel McKeige is back in the frontier town of Parable, Nevada. Back to face the husband she left behind...the son she never saw grow to manhood...and the home where her heart broke when she lost a beloved daughter. But her intentions regarding their marriage are soon clear - even if her motives are not.

Gabe McKeige loved Annabel too fiercely to let a chance like this slip away. But the iron-willed rancher is also too proud to beg - he didn't 12 years ago, and he won't now. So, Gabe sets out to woo Annabel the only way he knows...with passion-filled kisses and sensual touches that conjure the sweet firestorm of their marriage bed. Annabel is finding the man she once left is unbearably hard to resist....

The daughter of a town marshal, Linda Lael Miller is the author of more than 100 historical and contemporary novels. Now living in Spokane, Washington, the "First Lady of the West" hit a career high when all three of her 2011 Creed Cowboy books debuted at number one on the New York Times list. In 2007, the Romance Writers of America presented her their Lifetime Achievement Award. She personally funds her Linda Lael Miller Scholarships for Women.

I enjoyed the many layers of relationships in this book.

Lots of people in this story and they eventually were tied together in various ways that made it all the more interesting. My one concern was that the twelve year separation seemed far too long to repair the relationships that were damaged.

Will not disappoint

This author continues to write story after story with excellent character development, and plot. A must listen or read. I only wish there was a sequel to The Vow. Thank you to the author and narrator who did a superior job.

Lease talk to me

Great story. A son with secrets. A wife with doubts, If only they would talk to each other. But they did love and believe in their son,

Entertaining but not all that memorable

I am a huge fan of Linda Lael Miller so I’ll read anything she writes set in the historic west. This story was not her best offering but still proved an enjoyable read. I do enjoy Pilar Witherspoon’s narration style and that certainly makes up for any shortcomings in the plot. This story had a bit more spice and the hero and heroine were a bit older which I found to be a refreshing change of pace. All in all, no regrets surrendering a credit and I’ve already given up another for the latest LLM title released this week.
