About this listen

Don’t miss number one New York Times best-selling author J.R. Ward’s three-part series: The Wedding from Hell. This exclusive prequel to her upcoming standalone suspense Consumed (available in October 2018) takes us back to where it all started between arson investigator Anne Ashburn and "bad boy" firefighter Danny Maguire. The Wedding from Hell is a sexy standalone novella that sets up Consumed’s storyline, leaving fans hungry for more and dying to snatch it up.

The Wedding from Hell, Part 1: The Rehearsal Dinner: It’s a classic recipe for disaster: Take one bridesmaid who thinks pink is the root of all evil, mix with a best man who’s hotter than a four-alarm fire, add in their explosive sexual attraction, a nightmare bridezilla, two cat fights, and an emergency call, and you have the wedding from hell.

The Wedding from Hell, Part 2: The Reception: As the wedding from hell continues, Anne and Danny find themselves walking the delicate balance between professional distance and explosive attraction. Will the desire they feel last through the night and change their lives? Or are they doomed to part after one night of passion?

The audiobook bundle also includes an exclusive excerpt from Part 3: Consumed.

Great little listen!

So this book has two narrators, which is different for a JR book, and I didn't feel like EITHER the male voice or the female voice actually fit the characters, although the male voice grew on me. The female voice never did. I didn't like her voice at all, and especially when she was so nasally most of the time.

The story was great, and it made me look forward to the accompanying novel.

Female narrator

Loved the story, I'm a big JR Ward fan, but the female narrator sounded like she was talking through her nose and was very distracting.

✫✫ 3.5 Stars ✫✫

I guess I should have read the summary before starting this because if I had known what it was I would have waited for the 1st book in the series. With that said, I love the idea of this series and I know it's going to be great! This "prequel" is very different and kind of a build up for whats to come but I have to say.... HUGE CLIFFHANGER... like it just cuts off mid-sentence. I'll be impatiently waiting for Consumed and hoping its a full size book.

The narration really wasn't for me, they weren't bad narrators, they just didn't fit in my opinion and they didn't pull me into the story & characters the way most narrators do. I've listened to these two many times an it's not them, just casting I think.

Could not finish.

I tried twice to listen. The female narrator didn't do it for me. I'm not sure if the story was any good.

Audio

I liked the story but I guess I am old school I would have rather had the book to read I would find my mind wondering and not listening. And listening to someone else speak the voices didn’t match to what o thought they should sound like from when I read consumed. It took me a while to decide to go from a book in my hand to a kindle. I still miss the smell of a book if that makes sense. I might like to listen to something that wasn’t a story.

Loved it. I wish it had been longer.

I can't wait until the next book comes out. This was just as good as BDBH

A Reluctant Surprise

bought on a whim a while ago because i love this author.
Still, i was expecting a half effort for a novella. You know, a harlequin-romance dime novel type story.
the story has depth, addresses current relationship dynamics, how elected profession limits our freedom to chose what's best, etc. Yes, nice book to pass a long drive.
orators' performance were, as usual, outstanding.

Horrible narrator

I listened to about 5 minutes and couldn’t take the narrator’s voice anymore! No clue how the story was.
