About this listen

Graves Grove isn’t your ordinary town….

Nestled within the folds of the Canadian Rockies, Graves Grove probably isn’t the picturesque place you’d like to stay for long. Peculiar things happen here. The citizens seem normal superficially—they function well enough. But each one is deeply disturbed, wrapped in secrets and neuroses which drive them to strange behaviors.

And then there are all the missing children. And why is everyone afraid of that sycamore tree?

The Whispered Tales of Graves Grove is an anthology of stories taking place throughout the history of this mysterious town, from its founding to its future. Listen to them…if you dare.

A simple tree

A great collection of stories. With Suspense that will keep you mind spinning. That tie together towards the ending. The reader did an excellent job in helping make different voices/tones for all the characters. Reading smoothly and clearly as if I was reading the book myself. Making the book come to life.

Truly Haunting

In small towns, frequently, there is an object that holds the spirit and symbol of the town – such as a building, a park, a statue of a person, a boulder, or in this instance – a tree! In Graves Grove, it is the oldest Sycamore tree with creepy vibes!

The authors, J.S. Bailey, Kelsey Keating, Matthew Howe, Dakota Caldwell, Mackenzie Flohr, Cathrine Bonham, D.M. Kilgore, Raymond Henri, Travis Perry, Elise Manion, craft haunting stories around the tree and residents resulting in missing and deceased children, and more. Each story moves the tree through history from beginning to end. Short stories do not allow for each character to be fully developed but enough that the listener remembers each story and shudders. The authors describe with rich and vivid imagery the town, residents, and the tree. Each story flowed well with the other ones.

The narrator, Kevin Perkins, delivers a stellar performance! Each character is richly portrayed with the proper emotion whether it is fear, anger, or bewilderment. His performance allows the listener to be haunted by several of the stories more deeply than if they were simply read as books. Perkins is skilled at slipping into each character projecting the personality accurately.

Overall, this is a haunting and well-written anthology of stories!

Fun, creepy, and entertaining!!!

I found myself staying in the car to finish up stories. Love the way some of the tales intertwine!! The narrator really makes the book come to life!
