About this listen

Listen to the leaves rustling. Hear the wind building. These could be the first signs Gideon Berlander has found you. They could be the last sounds you hear.

Gideon hasn’t been the same since that terrifying night in the cave, the night he changed forever - the night he became a wind caller. But the power to call upon and control the unimaginable force of the wind in all its fury has warped him, twisted his mind, and unleashed a virtually unstoppable monster.

Those who oppose Gideon are destroyed...horribly. No one can escape the wind. And no one - not even Gideon - knows what nightmarish secrets wait in its swirling grasp.

You can feel the tension.

The Wind Caller. A tense supernatural horror. My first read of P D Cacek's work and I'm impressed, It gripped me in the first chapter and never let go. Rich deep characters blend with 1st nation folklore to make this a top class thriller.
Edison McDaniels narration in his gravelly southern tones combine with beautifully written pros to build tension and paint pictures that bring this audiobook to life.
A 5* listen that I highly recommend.

Excellent thriller

First I'd like to compliment the author on the cover, perfect for the book! You can see the insanity in the eyes and the storm is perfect to show how volatile the wind caller is.
This book is fast paced and exciting. This is my kind of horror story. What he does to human and animal flesh will leave the listener cringing.
Edison McDaniels is quickly becoming one of my favorite narrators. His voice is perfect for this audible!

I received this audible free at my request and I'm thrilled to be able to leave my review.

A good horror story with a unique feel

This is my first book from the author so I didn't know what to expect, but I found an interesting horror novel steeped in Native American folklore. I should warn you, the book took a dark turn. I dont want to say much more for fear of spoiling things, but Cacek creates character you can really relate to and care about, so their pain becomes yours. My only complaint is I was left wanting more. The book is so rich with backstory, at first I thought I was reading the last book of a series, but as the book moves on the backstory unfolds for you. Still, I felt there was more story here, and I hope Cacek revisits these characters again.
