Evelyn Crawford is having a tough time of late. Not only has her dad taken off on an impromptu holiday with his new floozy, but he’s also dropped Evelyn in the deep end at work. Becoming the CEO of a multi-million-pound pet supply empire was not on Evelyn’s horizon, but here she is. Alyssa Fox is sick to death of her dog rescue centre, being used as a Christmas gift store. Don’t these people know a dog is for life, not just for Christmas? Hell, there are TV adverts about it. No matter how many times she delivers the same speech to potential dog owners, those poor pups always end up right back where they started as soon as the shine wears off.

Well, not this year! No, this year Alyssa has taken action. Four Paws Dog Rescue will close for two months, starting November 1st. Now Alyssa just has to come up with a way to keep her dogs from going crazy with boredom. Adoption might be off the table for the pack, but they still need socialising. Enter Crawford Pet Supplies. The answer to Alyssa’s problem. A partnership with the company’s HQ building in London is just the ticket. What could go wrong?

Is it possible that the hard-to-pin-down Alyssa Fox has met her match? Will the festive season prove to be more magical than Evelyn ever thought possible? Who knows? Well, maybe a wise little dog called Bug.

I loved this story! I might read it every year! But one little dose of realism--do the dogs never need to go out or bark or anything? Those kinds of things really needed to be mentioned. I just loved this story in spite of that lack of realism. All the characters are so good, especially Bug! I just want to hug them all! This was my first book by this author. I will definitely read more of her books. The writing is really good and the characters come alive. The author does include many sentence fragments, but they seem to be intentional. There were quite a few errors, mostly missing commas and capitalization errors of parental units. (capitalize when used in place of a name, and lowercase when talking about them, if I'm explaining that right). The book just needs an editor/proofreader. But the story was so good, I just really didn't mind!
I also listened to the audio version. It was a little disconcerting at first when the audio quality changes, but I figured out those changes were for thoughts rather than oral dialog. The narrator brings the characters to life. I loved this book in audio as much as in written form.

An opposites attract holiday romance that’s low on drama, complete with relatable characters, sparks (and a bit of spice), and an absolutely adorable dog? How could you possibly go wrong!

Evelyn Crawford is the (unexpectedly) newly appointed CEO of her family’s pet supply empire, and (also unexpectedly) newly single. She’s overworked and overwhelmed, and if it’s not one thing it’s another. Alyssa Fox runs a dog rescue, but she’s sick of people adopting the cuties as holiday presents only to return them after the new year. She’s concocted a plan and it’s going flawlessly—except for one small detail.

When Bug the cocker spaniel shows up in Evelyn’s office and Alyssa comes in search of him there’s an instant spark between the women. Bug seems to find his way to Evelyn’s office every day, and the two women strike up a friendship with an undercurrent of more. I loved seeing their relationship develop, with each bringing something that the other was missing, and Bug was just so adorable.

Lillia Green does a really nice job with the audiobook narration, and The Wisdom of Bug was enjoyable all around.

This is a short cute love story. Plus it has dogs in it, can't go wrong there. I absolutely loved Bug, and such an adorable name for a dog. The narrator did a good job, I enjoyed listening to her. However, it was slightly frustrating the times her voice would echo throughout the story.

This is a super cute and heartwarming short Christmas listen about two women who realize there is more to life than just work, there needs to be a healthy balance. Oh and of course, with an adorable pup named Bug.

Alyssa owns Four Paws Pet Rescue and is sick of seeing animals being adopted during the holidays only to be returned in the new year once reality sinks in. So this year she has decided to close the rescue for the season. She team up with pet supply company, Crawford with a buddy system to keep the pups active and socially interacting with others. Every pup has a person besides one.

Evelyn isn’t really happy with her life right now. She is CEO of her father’s pet supply company, a position she not only doesn’t want but is drowning herself in. She comes across as a bit of an ice queen but is more just unhappy and burnt out.

Enter fluff-ball Bug. He has a knack for knowing what people want and, more importantly, what they need. He gets away from everyone you can guess where he heads. Yes, Evelyn nearly trips right over him and of course, ends up falling head over heels - for more than just the snuggleBug.

This is kind of cookie-cutter Christmas romance, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing, I would have loved it if it had a little more depth to the story.
