Publisher's summary

USA Today bestselling author Stacy Reid's addictive tale of two lost people who are found . . . by each other

London is buzzing with the news that James Winters, the Duke of Wulverton—thought lost at sea a decade ago—survived in the harsh wilderness of the Yukon. Now he's been returned to his family, his responsibilities, and a nightmarish world of artifice and noise. He has three weeks to become a refined, elegant duke for the Queen . . . or doom the entire family to ruin and scandal.

Promising psychologist Jules Southby knows a lot about disguises. She's secretly been living as a boy since birth, enjoying the freedoms of men and knowing little about how to behave like a woman. When she meets the alluring duke, she's unprepared for his raw, masculine beauty and icy intelligence . . . or that he can see through her darkest secret.

Jules has very little time to transform the duke into a true semblance of an English gentleman. Yet his very presence seems to unravel her in every way. Their attraction is stark and achingly real—and forbidden. But loving the lost duke would mean losing every sacrifice she's made to earn her freedom . . .

Contains mature themes.

Great Storyline

So nice to have a totally different storyline. It was a nice twist to this historical romance. Kept me interested and the narration was very good.

SO Disappointed

I’m so shocked at Stacy Reid. This story is embarrassingly bad. I don’t like giving negative reviews, but this one really missed the mark.

The Storyline!!!!

At first I was skeptical. The synopsis is not the best but once I started listening to it… OMG I COULD NOT STOP. I was listening at work, on the drive to work…. It was such a good read. Awesome story!

I loved it!!

Stacy always pens a good, steamy read (or listen) and this one is another favorite of mine. Jules, the Wildflower, or WaldFlower as it always came across to me, is not just a girl pretending to be a boy, but unbeknownst to her psychologist father, IS a boy. Her mother's deceit to have Miss Jules carry on such a deceit for 23 years is very well pulled off. When the Duke of Wulverton, missing for 10 years, since the age of 18, is found in the Canadian wilderness and returns home, his family deems him a savage for running barefoot with long hair. Dr and son Jules are hired to evaluate and quickly redeem this sensitive extrovert into the Duke his family expect him to be. But it's Jules who catches his eye, or nose, and a romance in a tree house in the woods ensues. These are two young people brought together by unusual circumstances. They were a likeable (and lickable!) H & h and the plot worked for me.

I've grown to enjoy Sasha Higgins, she sounds very young, but not unbelievable.

Beautiful

Stacy Reid is an absolute dream, each and every one of her novels is unique, full of heart and beautifully embodies the brilliance of Reid's writing and mastery of craft. The Wolf and the Wildflower is a beautiful edition to Reid's backlist, which are all must reads! This novel have an element of originality that sparks from inspiration drawn from Tarzan. Reid elegantly explores the topic of two people who have enormous secrets they are hiding from the world, but see the other so clearly. Reid's mastery of romance and how to build tension and chemistry is stunningly played out amongst the main character and drive this story through its discoveries and heart felt moments with care and understanding. The Wolf and the Wildflower is Stacy Reid in her element, this novel is a must read in the Reid Cannon and is such a lovely place to start if you have never read her before!

Sasha Higgins does a lovely job bringing this novel to live and her characters feel well rooted and developed.

Good ending!

Well this audible did drag out a lot in places. I felt that it was repeating a scenario over and over. But around the middle it did pick up. The narrator was spot on, great! I enjoyed the audible but would not listen to again.

WOW!

I've listened to hundreds of historical romances and they start to blend together. All the tropes, themes and characters start to become forgettable. Rarely do I find myself truly surprised or wowed at this point. This book was not a comfy familiar trope and I was wary but I am SO glad I listened. I love when I cannot forsee how an HEA will occur and the author delivers a beautiful one when I'm not expecting it. This was an awesome, steamy story and Stacy Reid is a genius.

Interesting story

The narrator was too much. I was able to finish the story but I really didn’t care for the sound of the voice of the narrator.
