Publisher's summary

It is 1944. A message from Paris warns Allied Intelligence of something big in the works - something that might have serious implications for D-Day. The only way to get more information from the agent in Paris - now closely watched by the Gestapo - is to send in a personal courier.

Russian émigré Michael Gallatin is picked for the job. In retirement as a secret agent since a grisly episode in North Africa, Gallatin is parachuted into occupied France, on a mission that will take him to the festering heart of the Third Reich on the scent of doomsday.

As a master spy, Gallatin has proved he can take on formidable foes - and kill them. As a passionate lover, he attracts beautiful women. But there is one extra factor that makes Michael Gallatin a unique special agent - he is a werewolf, able to change form almost at will, able to assume the body of a wolf and its capacity to kill with savage, snarling fury.

In the madness of war, Gallatin hunts his prey - ready to outthink his opponents with his finely tuned brain. Or tear their throats out with his finely honed teeth....

A must listen if you love action, suspense and mystery!

Loved the story, the voice actors and the music. Even the sound effecs. Fantastic over a car stereo.
At one point, while driving, I was so exilerated I wanted to pull over and throw a few air punches to let off some stream.

I had to park a couple times

I was listening to this on a long drive and I was blown away. I have never have had to pull over before due to a audible but it was impossible to pay attention to the narrow mountain road and the war I was clearly in the middle of. I highly recommend this to everyone!

Fun spy story with a twist

Given I have a 90-minute commute to work, I have decided to revisit an old favorite: The Wolf's Hour, for which I choose this version over the Simon Prebble-narrated version.

I knew in advance there was sex. I was not prepared for the multicast re-enactment, and neither were the Amish farmers I passed on my way to work.

A minor annoyance is that Parts One and Two are attributed to Robert M, rather than Robert R McCammon. Overall, it's an enjoyable production.

best werewolf novel, hands down.

Unfortunately for other authors, I hold other werewolf novels up to this one and so far they've always bombed. Then again if you're interested in writing a novel about werewolves, I highly recommend you read this one to see how well done it can be. I own the kindle versions of both of the Michael Gallatin books. I also own the narrated versions and the dramatization version of this book. I have the second audiobook but I need to get the second book, The Hunter from the Woods dramatization.

I have a few of the Graphic Audio dramatizations and I really love them. There are a few parts that the action and sound effects almost drown out the narration (i.e. the first sex scene) but they're far and few between. I seriously get lost in them they are so fantastic to listen to.

Fabulous story

Love the story. Listened to the original book and always felt the Michael Gallatin books would be a fantastic TV series. Highly recommend. Don’t miss HUNTER FROM THE WOODS
