Publisher's summary

From New York Times best-selling author Penelope Ward comes a new stand-alone novel.

What do you do when a sexy older man moves into your family’s summer rental?

Well, apparently, you make a fool of yourself - over and over. Things didn’t exactly get off on the right foot with Noah Cavallari. Our first encounter was embarrassing, to say the least.

But despite that, I found myself waking up every day with a newfound energy. Nothing exciting ever happened on the lake - not until Noah moved into the small boathouse on our property. He’d booked it for the entire summer...and I was still trying to figure out why.

When my mother became ill, I inherited the responsibility of making sure our guests were well taken care of. I should have been in college. Instead, I was living my best life...as a maid.

Dark, handsome, and mysterious, everything about Noah screamed forbidden.

I knew he was just passing through town for the summer.

I knew he was probably too old for me.

Yet I was drawn to him.

Not to mention he tried to save my life when he mistakenly thought I was drowning.

I wanted him and made no secret of it.

His own attempts to warn me away soon gave way to late-night moonlight chats by the lake. We were slowly easing into a friendship that was gearing up to explode into something I might not recover from.

Because he’s leaving at the end of the summer.

And I have no idea what I’ll do when August ends.

... a bit too slow for me

This is a cute romance that I would give my teenager to read. The story slowly builds and when I mean slowly... I mean slowly. We all know whats going to happen... but it takes soooooo long! There's not enough mature content.

The narration is by the perfect duo: Andi and Sebastian. They are awesome.

If you want a cute romance then this is for you.

Beautiful story

Love it the ending left wondering if and what happened. But, that is what a good book it suppose to do.

Classic Penelope Ward. Solid Narration

Angsty, great character development, chemistry that was palpable and an overall solid story. Noah is a tortured character and Heather, though young, has gone through many challenges and they basically had much common ground. A 14yr age gap was a deterrent until their impulses kicked in. It took a health scare to bring in some perspective and that twist, even though I saw it from a mile away, felt too predictable. The narration, as always with Andi Arndt and Sebastian York, was performed to perfection.

Omgosh loved it

It always amazes me when I see reviews and they’re not as good because this book was absolutely fabulous. I loved it. It flowed perfectly in my opinion. I have passed over this book. so many times and I hate it when I do that because when I finally do come across it again and take the plunge to listen to it, I regret not doing it sooner because the book was so good. But oh well. Penelope Ward is becoming one of my favorite writers. Of course narration was awesome because you can never go wrong with those two.

Awesome Awesome Awesome

I loved this book!...I laughed out loud and choked up in tears at times too but in the end it was the best listen I have had in a while. I always buy books narrated by these two and have never been disappointed. So awesome job by all involved. And dont think I was not aware that this was totally all my opinions but I refused to even give a little info about the actual storyline. Wouldnt dare want to ruin this for anyone. Just trust me when I say its worth every penny!!!😉
