A MASKED MAN . . .
Winter Makepeace lives a double life. By day he's the stoic headmaster of a home for foundling children. But the night brings out a darker side of Winter. As the moon rises, so does the Ghost of St. Giles - protector, judge, fugitive. When the Ghost, beaten and wounded, is rescued by a beautiful aristocrat, Winter has no idea that his two worlds are about to collide.
A DANGEROUS WOMAN . . .
Lady Isabel Beckinhall enjoys nothing more than a challenge. Yet when she's asked to tutor the Home's dour manager in the ways of society - flirtation, double-entendres, and scandalous liaisons - Isabel can't help wondering why his eyes seem so familiar - and his lips so tempting.
A PASSION NEITHER COULD DENY
During the day Isabel and Winter engage in a battle of wills. At night their passions are revealed . . . But when little girls start disappearing from St. Giles, Winter must avenge them. For that he might have to sacrifice everything-the Home, Isabel . . . and his life.

What did you love best about Thief of Shadows?
I loved everything, the story is fantastic and keeps you reading - I couldn't stop, pretty much read it through in one sitting. I love this series, it has been really fun, and I can't wait for the next book to come out. The ending was a bit of a surprise, I thought this would be the end of the series when it was revealed that Winter is the Ghost - but the end is nice and gives a twist that wasn't expected.Any additional comments?
Can't wait for the next book to see where the Ghost takes us next!Loved It!

Excellent book and narrator.

Also, Ms. McNab, while not quite in Ann Floxniks league, does a very good portrayal of the different voices of the characters.

This is my third audio narrated by Ms. McNab and I am officially a huge fan at this point. She does an incredible job of bringing these characters to life. Even if I find myself not loving the story itself, the narration is enough to keep me returning!
I have to admit, I read/listen to historical romance because generally I’m looking for the old fashioned kind of romance that pretty much holds to the era’s traditions and beliefs. This one was so over the top of it I almost wanted to chuck my audio player. The hero is a virgin and younger than the heroine while she has slept with more men than her husband. While I don’t mind a little twist here and there, I was disappointed in this set up. The mystery and drama were very well executed and I enjoyed the secondary characters very much. The steam level was quite high and after I got past the H/h pasts I was able to move forward.
Narration was awesome...story not really my thing

I adore the Duke of Sin so it's hard for me to admit, but this is THE BEST in the series. I eagerly wait for the intimate scenes which she normally introduces about 3 hours in, but this time I was perfectly content waiting OVER 5 HOURS until anything sexy happens. The story was so sweetly arranged I didn't care. Riveting action, fresh new plot-line. 1 Question... How in the world did the Ghost manage to bring all the starving weakened lassies to his home? Did all 6-12 rescued girls walk single file in a line through the streets of St. Giles?? Or did he carry them 2 at a time over the roof tops making multiple trips? Ridiculous. I wish Lady Beckonhall could have witnessed her man in fighting action MORE though. Write another book for this couple please!!!Best in the Maiden Lane series
