About this listen

Death has never been so tempting. No one ever cares that they're dying, when it feels this good to die. Farah's life is over in this PNR series from USA Today's best-selling author Hanleigh Bradley.

THIRST.

He wanted just one taste.

But I knew one would never be enough.

There's no backing out now. You've seen too much.

Even if I wanted to save you, I wouldn't be able to.

And I'm pretty sure I don't want to save you.

I want to own you, possess you, maybe even destroy you, but not save you.

unexpected twists

Great third installment in the Elite series. It has unexpected twist and turns and an excellent level and mix of emotions. I am enjoying how this series is unfolding. The narration/voice of the narrator was a bit soft and was bit like whisper, but somehow worked for this story.

Nerve-wracking!

Farah knew right away that Everette was a vampire. The way he watched her as she worked at the diner, day after day, made her uncomfortable and, yet, sent a chill down her back. He isn't like the vampires in her romance books. She is sure that he doesn't have a soft side that leads to domesticity. He is drawn to everything about her, but he knows it could never end well. They can't deny their intense attraction and Everette is becoming quite possessive. Farah is conflicted because part of her wants to run and part of her wants to be possessed. In Thirst, she spends most of her time with Everette in his home, and in his bed, but is starting to feel her mortality. She has always known that he was going to kill her, and her curiosity can't keep her from asking him almost everyday...is today the day you kill me? The outside world comes crashing in to their little bubble, when he gets word that his brother has been killed, and he desperately needs to find out who and why. Into this mess, the Mother (she who created the original vampires) arrives to get her own revenge. She is surprised when she meets Farah and realizes how much she looks like her mother. This story is getting more mysterious and there are many more layers to sift through to find the truth. Privately, his Mother tells Everette something he just can't accept, or is it that he doesn't want to accept. It is a life-changing truth and it remains to be seen how Farah is going to react. We are left with a cliffhanger, just as Everette finds out there has been a betrayal within his own family and the shock consumes him.
The narration is beautifully done by Debbie Soelter, with her dynamic and well-modulated voice that gives expression and a unique personality to each of the characters.

Book 3 of 4 in series.

I have learned this is the 3rd book in a series of 4. I have not read the others.
I received an Audible version of this book from the author through Story Origin. This is my voluntary review.
The narrator did a wonderful job of giving unique voices to each character. Her male voice was scratchy and mysterious, just like I think Everett would be.
The story is short, but packed with events, circumstances and situations that keep you involved in the lives of Everett and Farah. He's a vampire. She's a human. Their attraction is strong and dangerous. It ends on a cliffy. Need Book 4.
