Excellent perspective setter

I absolutely loved this book. I recently had a professor mention that only 10 percent of the world defines their values. AND 10 percent of the world makes 90 percent of the money. Since then as you can imagine I have been trying to define my values.

This book FINALLY helped me define my values and see things from a bigger picture. Thank you so much Lisa! I loved it :) I would recommend this book to anyone who is interested in self development, and self awareness!

Not my favorite

If you are someone transitioning careers or having a hard time after covid it might be helpful. I found it to be a summary of a lot of different non fiction books but lacking it’s own essence.

Some lessons worth knowing

Overall, it was an enjoyable book. I'm not sure I learned a ton of life lessons, but still valuable to hear the author's take on how they shaped her life.

Unfortunately, the heavy accent became burdensome to me even though it was originally quaint.

Great For Our Post-COVID Workplace

I've read and listened to hundreds of management and self improvement books, and I found this one to excel at bringing out still more valuable nuggets of wisdom. This book is very timely as it addresses living in a world and workplace in upheaval due to COVID lockdowns and other impositions.

I found that some of the concepts or ways of looking at work brought out in this book are insightful and provide an improved lens in which to view the world of work.

...and I love the Australian accent.

Coherent and fun!

The authors dive into difficult discussions in a way that coherently questions assumptions on approaches to work and life. It was free with Audible, and while it occasionally feels like a long podcast, it delivers a rhythm, insights, and accessibility to big, deep ideas that I found engaging, helpful, and entertaining.

Sad It’s Over

As someone who is suddenly accelerating into a career (wait how did I get here?) I appreciated the wide variety of perspectives. I felt it was a well balanced approach at what a working life could mean.

For the first couple chapters, I was not sure I would stick around but I’m glad I did. It might have to do with how many male-dominated voices I’ve recently listened to on books about business. Having a reset with This Working Life gave me more ease than hustle anxiety.

The middle section was my favorite.
