Thomas er flygtet fra sit eget liv og fra sit indviklede forhold til en gift kvinde til et sted, hvor ingen kender ham, og ingen stiller spørgsmål. Men selv i sin tilværelse som eremit er fortvivlelsen og hjælpeløsheden ikke sådan at slippe af med, og Thomas betror sig ikke til andre end sin dagbog...
Asger Baunsbak-Jensen (f. 1932) er forfatter og foredragsholder. Han har tidligere siddet i Folketinget for Det Radikale Venstre og var i en årrække undervisningsdirektør i Undervisningsministeriet samt landsformand for Det Radikale Venstre. Baunsbak blev desuden uddannet som præst i 1980 og fungerede fra 1981-1989 som sognepræst i Farum.
