About this listen

Meet Ambrosia as he is invited by a wealthy philanthropist to leave behind his life of general obscurity, safely sheltered from society, to enter a world of intriguing characters in the city of Hartland. But if he only knew what was to come, he may have never stepped onto that plane.

He soon becomes terrorized in a dream so intensely real his mind cannot seem to let go of it and is plagued by disturbing images of infatuation from another time and place. Afraid he is spiraling into madness, Ambrosia seeks out the help of those around him. Yet he has no idea what he is about to uncover. There may be more mystery and magic in his new home than he ever cares to admit.

This is a work of fiction. Names, characters, places, events, and incidents are the products of the author's imagination. Any resemblance to actual persons, living or dead, or actual events is purely coincidental.

Ambrosia pt 1

This book was more 'involved' than I imagined.I felt lost through all of it. John Joseph Rogers narration seemed fine throughout.I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.'

Great narrator

I received this ARC via audiobook boom. The narrator was great. The story was twisted around several points. I am not sure if I followed most of it but I did listen to the story and feel that it could have been done differently but it was not just in my scope of a good story. But this could rise to the level of a good story. Again I love the narrator.

An Interesting and Complex Listen

This is definitely a different story! First off, this story starts on chapter three on purpose. The story itself is quite complex and not one you can do other things while listening, at least, not things which require you attention. The book is well written and the characters developed. The main complaint I have is that some of the descriptions and dialogue could have been shorter but they didn't really take away from the story. The narration was excellently done. John Joseph Rogers has a very nice voice. He speaks clearly and at a nice pace. The characters are given their own voices and emotions. He helps to bring the story to life. Overall, I enjoyed this story and look forward to the next book. This story will not be for everyone but I really enjoyed it.

Very iteresting listen. Good Author Great narrator

So I got both the audio-book and the written book, and they are both one in the same as it's the same story, but I will try to remember to put both read/listen in even though I listened to it.

So when you read or listen to this book the story actually starts on chapter three which is actually done on purpose. The author describes many things in the book, which can help you visualize what you are listening/reading even better There is so many twists and turns in the book you never know what will be around the next corner as you read/listen to the book. I personally think it was a well written book, though some of the descriptions could be cut a bit.

Ambrosia who is a male gets a chance to experience a whole new world that he has never seen before. The book follows his journey into the modern era. New clothes was one of the first things he got introduced to, and the description was quite funny as to what he thought of it. As he is trying to cope with this life he is living, he feels haunted by things in his past and has to think what can be done to cope.

The narrator was great, he pronounced everything at a good pace, never rushing through or drawing out the scenes. He put voices into each of the characters, even making it seem like each one had the proper emotions (example sadness). His voice rose and fell in all the right areas. He does a great job on this book.

I received a free copy of this audio-book free and am giving it an honest review of my thoughts.

Just not sure what is happening here

So let me begin by saying I was given this book free in exchange for my unbiased opinion. So here are my thoughts….. While the author tries so hard to give the reader these wonderful descriptions of mundane things like an airplane, bathroom or a mirror it seems eternal and 6 chapters in that’s all we have gotten so far. Description after description after description, it felt like talking to a 2 year old, they are so excited about all the stuff in their “new” world but its rather boring listening to them because you know all this stuff already and that was how this book felt. Of course that’s when Ambrosia is not acting like a pubescent teenager needing to get laid…..so much inuendo I had to go back and check to make sure it was fantasy fiction and not erotica. At chapter 7 and I still have zero idea what the purpose of all this is, why is the main character here? What is his purpose for leaving the clearly different world from where he came and one you can drive from? I struggled not to just stop listening and write the review on what I had been able to get through but truly felt that would not be fair so I continued. Grammatical errors, was that the narrator? Or the writer? And just when I thought I was going to lose it before the book was done, it got interesting with a crazy blind man….. I will read book 2 just to complete the series but I hope that it moves on to the point.

Intriguing book

This book has me intrigued from the first page and did not let me go. The book is creative and unlike anything I have ever read. I was confused at first but I soon found that I understood the concept. The narrator was thoroughly captivating and kept me on my toes. I highly recommend this book with all its marvelous twist. I received this audio book upon my request and I am voluntarily leaving this review of my own volition.
