Publisher's summary

Is it too much to ask for a fairy queen to have a nice holiday?

After accepting the role as Queen of the Exiles in Shady Grove, Alabama, Grace finds that being in charge isn't all it's cracked up to be. An influx of wayward fairies find their way to the newly established haven and seek the protection of the local fairy queen.

Grace and company are just trying to have a normal holiday when it's interrupted by a daily menace that escalates out of control. Add to it an untimely visit by a coven of witches, and the holiday is quickly going to hell in a Christmas decorated handbasket. Plus, Grace is sick for the first time in her long life. She might get some sleep, if her bard, Levi would quit banging his new girlfriend the trailer.

This hilariously mad romp leading up to Christmas Day has lots of love, giving, and havoc! Tissues may be required.

Tinsel in a Tangle is a down-home magical celebration of the holidays including the crazy relatives! Download Book 2 of the Fairy Tales of a Trailer Park Queen today!

Interview with Kimbra Swain

Q: Why did you write the Fairy Tales of a Trailer Park Queen Series?

A: I was born and raised in Alabama, and I loved the Urban Fantasy genre. I wanted to mix those two things, but remain true to the Southern traditions and values that I was raised on: family, community, and determination. The Trailer Park Series is my ode to the South.

Q: What is the most important part of the Fairy Tales of a Trailer Park Queen to you?

A: Every single character in the series is real to me. The development of each one is so important for me going through the series. Some of them, including Grace, start off with many flaws. I should say especially Grace.

Q: How much of Grace is patterned after yourself?

A: Oh, gosh! Grace and I are a lot alike. Sassy and smart. However, Grace is very compassionate and trusting. She's also got a mouth on her. She says things that aren't PC, but as her character develops over the series, she sees that there were things she was very wrong about. Grace's story is about becoming who she was meant to be, and fate doesn't define that purpose. She does.

Q: What are your future plans for the Trailerverse?

A: The main series will have 15 books with a short story anthology focusing on the minor characters. It is also going through an exciting new rebrand. I will be launching Wynonna's story this fall in Stories of Frost and Fire. The werewolf, Dominick Meyer, will also get his own series called Dog River Wolfpack. It will launch this fall, too. I have future undetermined plans to expand the Trailerverse. Follow my website and the Trailerverse site to keep up with the announcements!

Tinsel in a Tangle

In this 2 book we get to met a few new characters and get to know the others a little more. Grace is stressed about the holiday, new fairies moving to town, witch coven, and other issues. Lots going on in this book.

Love this series

I so love love this series. Grace seems to have many trials and tribulations befall her in this book. It is funny and touching at times. The Yule Lads come to town bringing pure hilarity and chaos with them. Can Grace survive this Yule season and the Yule Lads Mama. We find out how much Grace has to give and how much those who have sworn fealty are willing to give back. I can’t wait for the next one. This has an outstanding narration to go with this witty story.

Absolutely Phenomenal!

This book is absolutely magnificent story. It has supernaturals, mystery, suspense, intrigue and romance with a twist. It has a little bit of everything all rolled into one. this book had me rolling with laughter.
The narrator does a fantasic job with the characters and the voices of each character. I'm from the south and I have to say She has a Beautiful southern accent. I definitely enjoyed listening to this book and I will be looking for more books by this narrator to listen to. I definitely recommend this book.

Cant wait to start number 3!!!

I totally love this series so far. Its so funny and Kimbra Swain has such an amazing imagination. And I normally HATE when authors make holiday books. They always end up being so cheesy. But I completely forgot it was a charismas book until the end. And I can't wait to read the next one! And If you listen to the audio, it makes a fantastic book so much better. Keira Stevens does an amazing job with this. Her sweet, southern accent fits Grace perfectly! So much fun! I really hope that more of the series makes it to audible!

Fabulous Listen🎧 Love These Fascinating Tales!

This is a fabulous story and audible listen🎧. I thoroughly enjoy the 1st book in the series, "Bless Your Heart" and this second book is just as amazing. Kimbra Swain continues to bring interesting and imaginative storylines and characters into the world she created, a world where supernatural beings exist and live amongst ordinary humans. We learned Grace, an exiled Fairy Queen was crowned Queen of the exiles, many of them have settled in Shady Grove. Grace knew shady things went on in town but she did not always see them, but now she does and she is learning more about the residents and their individual powers. Amongst the supernatural are the fairies, shifters, demon and several others, including a Phoenix. As Queen they fall under her protection, everyone is getting ready for the holidays and the winter solstice when odd things start happening, some of them are hilarious, others are unexplainable and frightening. Will they get who is behind all this in time to put a stop to what is threatening the Queen and her Town. This book has a lot to offer, there are some great characters, plenty of drama, action, twists, a bit of mystery and suspense, some angst, some laugh out loud moments as well as heartfelt and romantic ones. Kimbra Swain, thank you for another great story, the laughs and the emotional rollercoaster ride.

I listened to the Audible edition, narrated by the talented Keira Stevens. She continues to bring these characters and their story to life. I love how she portrays Grace, a bad@ss yet you could still hear her vulnerabilities and her emotions. She continues to deliver all that witty dialogue too. She is also amazing with the other characters, giving each their own distinct sound making it easy to follow not only the story but who is who. She is an entertaining storyteller and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for another great listen🎧

A Yuletide full of havoc and mischief!

It’s the holidays in Shady Grove, and its residents are in for some Yuletide craziness as trouble brews in the form of trolls and witches, causing havoc and mischief for Grace and her friends. The supernatural twist of a Christmas tradition was really clever, and I enjoyed how the story unraveled. Not only does Grace continue with her southern charm and humor, we see a side of her that forms a deeper connection with Dylan while struggling to maintain her protection over her town, and yet her compassion for her friends shines overall, bringing a very heartwarming touch to this fantastic urban fantasy. I love the characters and world that this author has created, and look forward to more adventures with Grace and her gang. Keira Stevens continues her amazing narration, giving such life to this colorful bunch of characters, while enhancing the listening experience of this magical “fairy” tale.

Tinsel in a Tangle

This book is awesome! It continues after the first and gives us so much more depth to the characters. The extra mischievous ones were definitely fun listening to and wondering what mayhem they will cause next. Narration was done beautifully.

A hot mess but entertaining

I gave the first book 5 stars, but I was a little less pleased by this second book in the “Fairy Tales of a Trailer Park Queen” series. It is an urban fantasy set in a fictional small town in Alabama. I will cover the good and bad aspects of this audiobook. Overall, I was pleased and entertained, and I look forward to the next audiobook in the series. I am hooked on this unique and entertaining Southern urban fantasy.

Here are the things I loved. First, the author is really talented at creating a small town atmosphere. The world-building of this town is really good because I feel like I know the people and the town geography after listening to the book. Second, the author perfectly captures Southern culture. I am from South Carolina and Georgia, and the author really knows what it is like to live in the South. Third, I really liked all of the characters except for one (Grace). Dylan Riggs and Levi were perfectly charming, Winnie was very adorable, and the bizarre assortment of minor characters were fascinating. Fourth, the author has great imagination and cleverly added lots of Christmas folklore to make a fun plot. Finally, the narrator Keira Stevens did an amazing job. Her accents, character voices, pacing, and everything were flawless.

However, a few things in the book got on my nerves. My main complaint is that the heroine Grace is not very likable. She actually became less emotionally mature than she was in the previous book! I cut her some slack in the first book, but she did some annoying things in this one. She is a fairy princess who is centuries old, so give me a break on the immaturity. Grace loves and trusts Dylan, but she punished him for way too long (for keeping secrets in the first book) by withholding herself and her words of love. Dylan deserved better. Also, Grace has way too many temper tantrums, at least one per day. I hope Grace gains some emotional maturity in the next book. As a second complaint, there are too many instances of “he said” and “she said” in the text, although the narrator does her best at de-emphasizing them.

I requested and received a free audiobook copy via #AudiobookObsession, and I voluntarily wrote this honest review.

excellent!

The narration is perfect. The second book in this series gives you exactly what you want: humor, love, tears, and unbreakable family bonds. Kimbra Swain's take on the fae mythology is unique and refreshing. You'll definitely want more and luckily this is only the beginning in a stellar series.
