Traces of Kara is an action-packed, pulse-pounding psychological thriller/suspense novel that features a determined killer who slowly loses his grip on reality as his carefully detailed plan starts to fall apart and a heroine determined to move forward with her life who now must reconcile everything she believed to be true about her family with the reality of their tragic past.
Kara Knight didn't know she had a twin...until it was too late.
Kara Knight can't wait to leave her hometown for the promise of nursing school and a fresh start on her future—leaving behind an overprotective mother, a broken heart, and painful memories. However, 25 miles away, the twin she doesn't know exists is determined to be reunited with the sister he cannot forget.
Kara is abducted and thrown into her obsessive captor's delusional world. As the past she thought she knew unravels around her, Kara struggles to make sense of the memories that come creeping back, threatening her sanity and her safety. Meanwhile, Kara's mother races against time to save the daughter she fears she will lose when a long-held secret is revealed. The hours tick away as her captor plays out his plan—to take Kara with him into death at the exact moment of their birth, never to be separated again.

Kara and Roland are interesting characters Kara has no memory of Roland and Roland is obsessed with Kara. The web that Roland weaves is so twisted that I was not ever sure that anyone would come out the other side of it. I needed to know more of their history and as it all came together I was appalled, I was scared, and I was in awe of how it all came together.
Melissa Foster wrote a suspense thriller that I could not put down. I love that an author that I know as a romance has skills in writing thrillers as well.

Roland has searched for his twin sister for years. After locating her, he is ready to put his twisted plan into action but she has no idea who he is and why he continues to call her Marissa. When her mother also becomes a target of Roland's, Kara finally finds out the truth about who Roland really is and what she thought she knew about her life was all a lie.
A twisted story of one twins undying love for the other makes it hard to put it down. Narrators were great!

A.T. Chandler, and Jennifer Jill Araya were terrific. They both delivered a worthy performance as Roland and Kara and all the side characters to bring it all together.

AT Chandler and Jennifer Jill Araya bring this scary story alive! Chandler plays the dark, demented Roland, and boy did he play the part. I believed every single part he played, felt the danger and obsession. As the secondary characters, he created a town of caring, heroic men, each with their own agendas but realistic and relatable. Araya comes through as Kara, and what a job she does. Scared, confused, sick, frustrated, angry, she comes through with every emotion as Kara goes through her ordeal. Plus she plays her mom with a fierce protectiveness that is completely believable. I could feel the mamma bear! This was a amazing pairing and incredible narration.
