Laughably bad narrator

I’m not sure if a human is reading this since it is SO bad. Words totally mispronounced and inflection so wrong it sounds like a machine translation. I’m pretty sure it was produced as a joke. It is a sad performance to a classic. You are better off watching Muppet Treasure Island movie.

The Reader was terrible!

Need a better narrator! More expression! Had to fight myself to stay awake! Have read the book as a youngster! Enjoyed it then!

disappointing

this classic novel is read with a strange (slavick?) accent. quit before completing, it was too hard to listen to.

Great Story, Terrible Narrator

The person narrating this book is just bad. English is clearly not his first language and it's painfully obvious.

Great story

Treasure Island is a classic for any age. This version has some recording issues making listening difficult- however, for the price it is adequate.

Choose a different version

While the book was a classic and well written, full of adventure and intrigue, the narration fell short. The narrator’s reading was choppy, often repeating himself. There was loud background interference in some parts and in others, a different narrator would come in and add sections. While the storyline and plot was great, it was ruined with sub par narration. Choose another version with different narration.

Pronunciation is terrible

narration is terrible - but funny too. for example, "He could hear the thumping of his crutch" is read " ...thumping of his cr*tch"

Great story but terrible Narrator

Love this classic but the narrator struggles with properly articulating words and has no dynamic range with voice - it is a very heavy accent and monotone. I abandoned after the first chapter and will find a better narrated version.

Great classic destroyed by reader

Illia Vasilets May be the worst reader on audible. I purchased the audio book to share with my grandchildren on a long trip, but Vasilets thick accent and Robert Lewis Stevenson’s rich language made the book incomprehensible to my young listeners. Vasilets expressionless drone put us into fits of pique at his mispronunciations or coma like sleep. I recommend avoiding this reader like the captain avoids Black Dog.
