I have found that reading a book and then listening to the same book are two different experiences. In the first, my mind and own experience set the dialogue. In the second, I get more of a feel for what the author intended. Both are great entertainment and I have totally enjoyed both reading and listening to Trey: A Lair Novel.
One part of the book I missed in reading but picked up in listening was AM Maddens beautiful analogy describing love like a helium balloon. As I listened I was so grateful to be catching something so special,something that I would have missed if not for the Audible performance. A. M. Madden and T.L. Howell make a great team and I look forward to listening to future collaborations.

Talented author and narrator

I loved this layered rock star romance which had so many feels as the sexy Bass Guitarist with a sad back-story slowly morphed into a happy one. Poor Trey had gone off the rails after loosing the love of his life not once but twice.. but now he’s clean and sober, he‘s finally back with Devil’s Lair and the tight group of friends he calls family. However, Trey’s life is flat - he’s a lost soul and that’s how he wants it to stay because he’s not risking his heart again.. but Fate and Destiny just snigger, rub their meddling hands together, pop some corn and get on the phone to Cupid in gleeful anticipation of what’s to come. Because Trey is just about to meet a hookup from the past and her news will change his world with one word.. daughter.

What I loved about this story was the flow and pace and the push and pull that followed as the disbelief slowly turns to acceptance and joy. But in the first tidal-wave there’s guilt, fear, possibilities, angst, boundaries, lines in the sand, clashes, new excitement, spoiling, reprimands and silly knock knock jokes. The calmer waters follow with acceptance, settlement, contentment, character growth and loyal friend’s support as Trey and Camilla finally let down their walls, merged their worlds and sail into calm waters. Their love grew.. it wasn’t instant, there were various pitfalls they both had to manoeuvre and there were three hearts on the line that had to be protected.. but thankfully hope, healing and unconditional love finally leads to a sweet HEA and a beautiful awww Epilogue. Dual PoV and TLH did the female voices really well.. but I personally have been totally spoilt over the years and would’ve loved a female narrator covering Camilla’s PoV.. nevertheless the narration was great.

Worth a credit? Yup.. emotional, enjoyable, entertaining, heartwarming.. and I’m a sucker for Rockstars. And, even though this is the last book in the Liar series, it can, IMO, stand alone.
