Publisher's summary

Journey with Max and his people as they go through trials and tribulations in the third installment of the Giseria Chronicles.

Previously, Max and his people created SafeHaven: a fortress within the forest of his lands. With the precious metals mined from the mountain that he has found, his merchants and advisors are buying all the land, shops, and resources they can all over Augustia to prepare for the upcoming war.

He is also giving his people wages and a life even though they will be called at some point in the future to fight for their world. Max bonds with more elementals and begins to learn what his magic can do, but his scouts picked up disturbing news.

The dark ones are marching toward his hometown of BlackCrest, and Oakenshore, the Ackley Duchy.

The Army of Races were called upon to march and left, hoping they would arrive in time. Getting there as the battle was commencing, his army defeats the dark ones and after, Max meets with his parents to convince them and others to move to SafeHaven for their safety.

The AOR marches toward Oakenshore to try and help with the siege there. They then learn a difficult lesson, their army is not invincible.

This book has harem elements/unconventional relationships, sexual content and cursing. It is intended for mature listeners.

Ok but.

The story was OK, but I’m starting to really dislike the main character in his attitude.

good volumn #3

the likeable mc has bevome a little tyrannical with zero sense of humor. a very hidden moral compass is still directing him to do good deeds but he admires and respects no one. the story and plot is still going nicely but he is very unhinged and unrelateable to anyone.

Even more action than the second book

I enjoyed the second book quite a bit, but this book is even better.

The main character continues to grow in multiple ways for mentally emotionally and physically the title of this book is apropos as it describes the trials and tribulations of the MC.
If you haven’t started the series, start it now you won’t be sorry.

YES ALPHA (sarcasm)

Ok so in a lot of Chinese manhua (manga) there is a mob antagonists that either doesn't recognize the MC or doesn't realize how strong he is.
So the usual when the MC doesn't give a crap about them or calls out their bullshit they get angry, think their background or skills are going to save them and yell "YOURE COURTING DEATH" before they're beat to the ground, beg for mercy or threaten with background. Then the mc kills them, people around sat how he's so powerful and then a fee chapters later it all repeats again.

This is how repetitive this garbage has become. Same crap, asshole shows up says he wants to be alpha and he will rape his women then the dude gets killed and every one of his allies gets scared of him.

Thats another thing I have a problem with, the reaction of his allies all the time. Every time he tests his powers they all get scared and say how he's done something nobody has ever seen before, you'd think after the 2nd and 3rd time they would get used to it already but no, just have to shove down our throats how amazing he is. Then they get scared of him which makes no sense to his allies who he has been with and slept with the most. If it was explained that it was an instinctual fear felt by all living things then yeah I would accept it but no its just glossed over to, again, tell us how badass the mc is.

The mc is also becoming an asshole the stronger he grows and his stupid "I'm just a normal farmer" crap is as annoying as ever.
The story part of a future harem member blaming him is also stupid, its just forced antagonism when even his own allies didn't blame him for a lot of their kind dying in battle.

The sex scenes aren't even that great either, they sound like b rate porn flicks, those one which half the words are cock, pussy and fuck. All of which don't fit the fantasy swords and magic world the story is set in, well not to me at least.

To wrap this up, I regret buying these 3 books, first one got me hooked, second one continued the story but I felt something was off, since I'm horny I ignored and got the 3rd which made me regret all.
