Publisher's summary

In this holiday yarn from the USA Today best-selling author of A Finely Knit Murder, all Izzy Chambers Perry wants for Christmas is to keep her brother out of jail....

In Sea Harbor, the holidays mean cozy fires, festive carols, and soft skeins of yarn waiting to become hats and sweaters and scarves. And this year, Izzy and the other Seaside Knitters are also knitting tiny ornaments to decorate a tree for the first annual tree-trimming contest. Their holiday cheer is multiplied when Izzy's younger brother, Charlie Chambers, unexpectedly arrives to volunteer at a local clinic. He brings with him outspoken hitchhiker Amber Hanson, who is returning to Sea Harbor to claim an inheritance. She quickly reacquaints herself with the area - and forms an unlikely friendship with Charlie. But their bond is shattered when her body is found beneath the undecorated trees on the Harbor Green.

Charlie is a suspect in the murder, so Izzy and her fellow Knitters step in to uncover the truth. Their journey takes them into Charlie's past and tests their fierce love for him. But it's only by peeling away long-buried secrets that they can hope to restore joy to the season and enjoy the shining lights of the newly decorated trees....

Oh no! I need more!

Please write more. NEED NEED to know what is still to happen to these characters who have become like family. We need a wedding between Cass and Danny. And maybe more babies for Izzy and Sam. Don't stop now!

Too much information for no reason.

This was a very bad read with a description of everything, who cares . Get on with the story. This should have been a three hour read if that long. Too many characters, no substance. Don't waste your time. Only need three chapters!

A little disappointed

I'm a big fan of Sea Harbor mysteries, but the reader was disappointing. Character voices did not ring true, tone was a little vocal-fried.

Why are all the clues omitted??

This series is known for being more sentimental and feelings based compared to your typical mystery, so just keep that in mind. This installment was particularly heart breaking, but I do appreciate that the case feels like something that would happen in real life. There is a lot of loss & a lot of heartbreak.
My qualm with this series is that it’s not really a mystery you can solve. The story purposely leaves out so many details you need to put together the clues. For example it will end a chapter with something like this: “and then she leaned in and told us what was on that paper.. and the name shocked them all.” End scene. We never know what name was there or even get a hint. Another example: “and that’s when they saw him at the grave, and they were all shocked..” End scene. How on earth are we supposed to solve it when every single useful clue is cut out? Then at the end when you find out what happened you end up feeling annoyed because obviously you’d never be able to piece it together without the necessary info. This whole series is set up the same way. So if you like to sleuth then skip this, but if you don’t care and you just like a sentimental story then it’s prob more up your alley
