Publisher's summary

Inheriting the most notorious house of ill repute in Texas can spell trouble for a girl's reputation...especially when she's Elizabeth Murphy, Bramble's prim and proper librarian. Yet when she discovers a buck-naked cowboy handcuffed to a four-poster bed, she forgets all about the town gossips. Elizabeth has sworn off men, but the stranger's kisses melt her resolve faster than ice cream on a hot summer day.

Waking up in Miss Hattie's Henhouse isn't how Brant Cates reckoned on getting to the bottom of his great-granddaddy's murder. The plan was to solve the centuries-old crime, then get the heck out of Dodge. But after meeting Elizabeth and discovering that the buttoned-up beauty is a sexy siren in disguise, he just can't pull himself away.

Now Brant needs Elizabeth to finally put his past to rest, but is she willing to risk her future on Bramble's newest bad boy?

Couldn't help but laugh throughout

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes. I went into this not wanting to like this story. Pure silliness...a who're house, a family curse, an old maid librarian...really? But, in Katie Lane fashion, it was funny and heart warming and just a good time to imagine.

What did you like best about this story?

The characters for sure, and there were some off the wall characters in this story.

Have you listened to any of Nicole Poole’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

This series, which I am reading is so funny, I am a Nicole Poole fan.

Fun book

Loved the characters in this book. Hope this is not the end of the cates brothers story. Would love to see what happens with beau.

Excellent !

I thoroughly enjoyed the book. The plot kept me guessing so I was not bored and laughed out loud a number of times. The narration was just as impressive.
I highly recommend this book!

Uugh!

This book was just plain silly! I’ve read two others in this series and I enjoyed them but the characters in this book are all bumbling, silly adults.
