Where there's a will...

When pretty hairdresser Delaney Shaw returned home to Truly, Idaho, for the reading of her stepfather's will, she planned on paying her respects and getting out of town. But it seems the will has some unexpected stipulations - like the one that says if Delaney wants her inheritance she needs to stay put and have nothing to do with sexy Nick Allegrezza...for an entire year!

There's no way.

Ten years ago, Nick had swept Delaney off her feet and onto his Harley, and that's when she really let her down her hair! Back then, he was a love-'em-and-leave-'em man, and Delaney learned the hard way that she was just a fling. But Nick is as irresistible as ever. And when the ladies at Tuesday Night Bingo see Nick and Delaney making after-hours whoopee through the window of a local beauty parlor, Delaney knows it's time to decide if Nick is truly, madly the man of her heart.

TRULY TERRIFIC!

Would you consider the audio edition of Truly Madly Yours to be better than the print version?

Absolutely. The paperback has been on my keeper shelf since it hit book store but seldom found the time to scatter the dust and revist Truly, Idaho. The spot on narration will make household chores almost a pleasure.

What other book might you compare Truly Madly Yours to and why?

See Jane Score/Simply Irresistible by Rachel Gibson

"It Had to be You" & "Heaven, Texas" by Susan Elizabeth Phillips

All four of the above books are contemporary romances that highlight how relationships deepen through character growth. Every individual is flawed and learns to be a better person. Smart, sassy dialogue and humor in abundance.

What about Emma Bates’s performance did you like?

Clearly, Ms Bates did her homework before getting behind the microphone. She read the book first! She understood the characters and gets Rachel Gibson's comedic timing. For example, if a character said something stupid you could just see an eye roll by the tone used.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Some grins here & there. And yes, I got choked up right alone with Nick when he lays it all on the line after Delaney says he doesn't love her because he doesn 't know what love is. You can see it, hear it and feel every emotion Nick's living.

Any additional comments?

I've already listened to the book three times inside of two weeks.

Truly Madly A Must Read!

Wow! Truly Madly Yours by Rachel Gibson is a great read. The characters are well developed, and Emma Bates' narration is believable as she helps bring the story to life. Couple a misunderstood, bad boy and an innocent girl from a prominent family, just on the verge of rebellion, and you have a the beginnings of a great romance.
Warning: Strong sexual content is included, making this inappropriate for some audiences.

VT. Fan

Delaney was a bit of a whinner, and let everyone walk all over her. She spent a lot of time chasing after Nick , practically begging him to have sex with her.. can't tell you how many of Delaney's dialogue started with "No man ever did this for me" A n n o y I n g.

Truly Enjoyed

I enjoyed this book. I am a new fan of Rachel Gibson and have several of her books.
This book was pretty good, but I really like it all wrapped up in a tidy bow in the end. Maybe for me I just want too much. Delaney walks away again after Nick hurts her one more time and this time it may be for good. Yes, he is a jerk but she can't help the fact that she loves him.

It would have been nice to see what happened like what the mothers felt and did after they realized that Nick and Delaney really were getting married and loved each other to distraction.

I also felt tormented a little at the back and forth but that also kept my attention and interest in the book. The characters were developed and I think the narrator did a good job.

I had this book a while and finally listened to it this week and came away satisfied. You will not be disappointment and this book is worth the credit.

Hot!

I was really happy to see that audible recently released more of her books. I think this is so far my favorite Rachel Gibson audio. The entire story, from start to finish was interesting, funny and entertaining. The hook up scenes were pretty hot and sprinkled throughout the entire story! This is definitely credit worthy and worth the hours of lost sleep.

Ok narrator.

Her voice didn't change very much between male and female. At times she sounded more feminine when reading the male parts. Really liked the story but felt like the love came out of nowhere. I mean they never even went on a date or had long conversations and all of a sudden they were in love.

Maybe my favorite Gibson of all time

Wow, i think i finished this book in 2 days. I actually stayed up between 3 and 6am just to hear the end. I loved this story. While the narrator wasn't the best in distinguishing between male and female voices- her inflection was OUTSTANDING and made up for it! I thought Nick's character was great- awesomely flawed, and incredibly heartfelt. I loved hearing his perspective at the end when all the chips are finally laid out.

Delaney is a great character too- i mean the whole story! I've already re-read part of it. Hilarious, leaves you wanting more, and just great. DEFINITELY credit worthy, definitely re-read worthy and overall just great.

I was worried too- as i've really liked Gibson's Hockey series and haven't been crazy about some of her other books that forayed outside of that series. This has me scouring for more of her stuff!! Breathe of fresh air for contemporary romance!

A nice romance

This is a story about two people who grew up hating their lives and coming to terms with it. They have to work their way through all the emotions and pain from their past. We get a front row seat for the whole journey!
