About this listen

The girl everybody loves to hate has returned to the town she'd sworn to leave behind forever. As the rich, spoiled princess of Parrish, Mississippi, Sugar Beth Carey had broken hearts, ruined friendships, and destroyed reputations. But 15 years have passed, and now she's come home - broke, desperate, and too proud to show it.

The people of Parrish don't believe in forgive and forget. When the Seawillows, Sugar Beth's former girlfriends, get the chance to turn the tables on her, they don't hesitate. And Winnie Davis, Sugar Beth's most bitter enemy, intends to humiliate her in the worst possible way.

Then there's Colin Byrne.... Fifteen years earlier, Sugar Beth had tried to ruin his career. Now, he's rich, powerful, and the owner of her old home. Even worse, this modern-day dark prince is planning exactly the sort of revenge best designed to bring a beautiful princess to her knees.

But none of them have reckoned on the unexpected strength of a woman who's learned survival the hard way.

Ain't She Sweet? is a story of courage and redemption...of friendship and laughter...of love and the possibility of happily ever after.

I read this most likely in 2004. Twenty years later I listened to this on audio and loved it. I had forgotten the plot so it was all fresh. The narrator does a marvellous narration, with perfect comedic timing

Fantastic

I really enjoyed the book but they should have had a man narrate the men's voices.

Love the southern bell stories with a lot of witty Snark and dry, quit undertone. I think I read the story once every other year.

One of my favorite stories ever

I really prefer romance stories with older adults, as opposed to 20-somethings. I enjoyed the old southern house and town as the backdrop, and the southern snooty sarcasm in the dialog. This was a fun book.

I’ve had this in my TBR list for ages and I’m so glad I finally listened to it. The narrator was great and the story was surprisingly thought provoking. Wonderful entertaining characters in a small town and an engaging story. Well worth the listen - you end up rooting for all the characters!

Great Character Driven Story

Years ago, this book was my gateway drug to the world of SEP. I was delighted by the narrator, she captured the South beautifully. I cried all over again. The characters struggle in a profoundly human way. I'm a different person than I was 15 years ago when I first read this, and my older, wiser self appreciated this story on a whole new level.

Just as beautiful as the first time I read it.
