Tiffany can't avoid being funny: it's just who she is. But The Last Black Unicorn is so much more than a side-splittingly hilarious collection of essays - it's a memoir of the struggles of one woman who came from nothing and nowhere. A woman who was able to achieve her dreams by reveling in her pain and awkwardness, showing the world who she really is, and inspiring others through the power of laughter.

Story
Donovan and I met at a coffee shop to do the suitcase exchange. Turned out, it wasn’t just his voice that was sexy. The man holding my luggage was absolutely gorgeous, and we had an immediate spark. He got me to admit that I’d snooped in his bag and then convinced me to make it up to him by letting him buy me coffee. Coffee led to dinner, dinner led to dessert, and dessert led to spending an entire weekend together. So what did I do to repay him for his kindness? I waited until he was in the shower, then ghosted him.

Rule number one for having a one-night stand: Don’t fall for the girl. After a lengthy dating slump, I finally met someone who sparked my interest. Well, first the sparks flew when we argued. Later in the evening those sparks ignited into something more. I was drawn to Devyn, in a way I hadn’t felt in a really long time. Needless to say, I was disappointed when she abruptly left after our amazing night together. I couldn’t stop thinking about her. But she hadn’t even given me her number. In a city with eight-million people, I figured I’d never see Devyn again.

Story
Brantt Myhres wasn't around for the birth of his daughter. Myhres had played for seven different NHL teams, and had made millions. But he'd been suspended four times, all for drug use, and he had partied his way out of the league. This is his story, in his own words, of how he fought his way out of minor hockey into the big league, but never left behind the ghosts of a bleak and troubled childhood.

Simply Wonderful.
A great story and an excellent reading by the narrator = well worth your money and time. Loved it. I listened to Misty Rain first, and while that was a very interesting listen, this is both that and an excellent story. Gregg Austin’s imagery - in both books, frankly - is easily superior to that of his competitors. You'll love it.

Don’t miss out on this. It’s Brilliant.
You can tell that the author Gregg Austin has a true affinity for each of the characters he created in this luminous and dark story.....you feel each of the characters in every syllable the narrator speaks for them. The writing is imaginative, clever, funny, suspenseful and in the end, you truly feel like you've been somewhere you never even imagined you could go....which to me, is the hallmark of a phenomenal book. Absolutely Fabulous. 😁

Great Story
Tike this a lot, agreeing with the previous reviewer it's slightly predictable, but grips all the same.

Great narration and a story that hooks you in
Lost a little in the last quarter of the book. Well-written, engaging, just felt the ending didn't live up to the awesome beginning. It’s a good story.

Uncle Big Bad’s Cafe is consumed as an audiobook.
This book is fun, quirky, dark, fantastic and original. Gregg Austin has to be one of the best writers alive. His writing is so vivid and he makes it seem so easy. More importantly, he found a narrator to narrate his work that was able to precisely deliver it how he wanted the book to be read. Gregg Austin is not just a writer, he is a genius. 🤓 ✍️
