About this listen

You can’t change the past, but you can prevent the future.

New York scuba instructor Jake McLeod knew his student wasn’t mentally prepared for the dive, but pressured by the operation owner, he makes the dive, and tragedy strikes. Relocating to the beautiful, serene island of Grand Cayman, Jake starts a new life. He begins to find solace and healing in paradise, but the guilt and trauma of that fateful day continue to haunt him.

Past and present collide when Jake finds the new operation owner mistreating a female divemaster. He is determined to avoid past mistakes and vows to stand up to the man and prevent a repeat of history. There is more to the operation owner than expected, however. Jake stumbles upon his illegal drug activities. Without evidence, the DEA will not investigate, so Jake engages the aid of an ex-Navy SEAL friend from Long Island to strategically take down the empire.

Follow Jake and his friends on a path of murder, secrets, and seemingly impossible challenges. Meander through hidden underwater coral passages and clandestine hideaways. Failure is not an option in this action-packed adventure of underdog heroism driven by regret and powered by redemption.

Thrilling action and suspense.

I really enjoyed Turming the Tides. The story unfolds a little slowly, but then the action and suspense become nonstop until the end. I liked the character development and flow of the story. I am excited to see more from this author.

It continues to build and keeps you wanting more.

An exciting story. It starts slow and seems like the same old story, but then the author adds another layer then another layer and soon you don't want to stop listening . Once you think you have it figured out then the twists begin. The narration was very good although some of the accents were questionable. I am excited for a sequel.

Would make a great movie!

Starts slow and technical about scuba diving but picks up pace and turns into an action packed story with romance thrown in and characters that you get attached to, not to mention the descriptive talent of the author transports you to a beautiful island setting which brings a whole other dimension to the story. I did not like the narrator's meek voice for the girl in the book as I would have imagined her stronger had I read the book but overall a pretty good performance.
