The psychologist with a troubled past...

Dr. Christopher Kellan spends his days at Loveland Psychiatric Hospital, overseeing a unit known as Alpha Twelve, home to the most deranged and psychotic killers imaginable. His newest patient, Donny Ray Smith, is accused of murdering ten young girls and making their bodies disappear. But during his first encounter with Donny, Christopher finds something else unsettling: the man looks familiar.

The killer with a secret...

Donny Ray knows things about Christopher - things he couldn't have possibly learned at Loveland. As the psychologist delves deeper into the mysterious patient's case, Christopher's life whirls out of control. The contours of his mind are rapidly losing shape, and his grasp on reality is slipping even faster. Is he going mad, or is that what Donny Ray wants him to think?

The terror that binds them...

In this taut psychological thriller from Andrew E. Kaufman, best-selling author of The Lion, the Lamb, the Hunted, a tormented man must face his fear and enter the mind of a killer to find the truth...even if it costs him his sanity.

you must ride this rollercoaster

Any additional comments?

I love novels that take me on a mind-bending ride. Saying that, it is easy for me to notice the clues left by the author in books like this determine the “reality” the character has fallen into. Sometimes, they become so mundanely predictable, that by reading the last few pages, I know the story.

Twisted is so not one of those.

I wanted to know every single detail of the mind-trip on which Dr. Kellan finds himself. I mean, there’s recognition of a murderer transferred to his psych ward, for crying out loud. What is up with that?

The characters of Chris, his wife and son are so developed as to transport me into the mind of Chris and welcome the wildness. Especially when people start disappearing.

Excellent narration kept me listening all through a day of work and made the drudgery of everyday life simply fall by the wayside as I mulled over where the end would take me.

Twisted is definitely a recommended listen.

Excellent

This is my first experience with Andrew Kaufman and I must say the story line, the plot twists and the perfect narrator just made this such an enjoyable read I actually listened to it from morning to night, I just couldn't put it down

Confusion, befuddlement, fear

Those are the emotions I felt throughout the book. Twisted by Andrew Kaufman makes you think and rethink all the possibilities of what is really happening until you become the mentally unstable one.

Not bad

The main character frustrated and annoyed me; but given the nature of the story, that may well have been the point. Though the story ended several chapters later than it should have, I still liked it.
Narration was good, too.

Disturbing yet engaging

This was one of the more disturbing books I've read or listened to in a long time. It took me for a ride that I wanted to get off but couldn't stand the thought of not knowing what happened. I would recommend this as a great "listen on the way to/from work" book though be prepared to be late for a meeting because you just have to finish that chapter as you sit in the parking lot.

Good Read...

Not really sure about this one...I liked it but it dragged at times . One thing good it made you think about the book days after you finished it, which is a good thing with a book!

I loved it! I am reminded of the movie "The Sixth Sense". I was at the edge of my seat. Messrs Kaufman and Gigante, you did well!

Twisted

Great story , at times I felt like I was in the mind of a mad man. This book takes you through emotions, that make you feel some how you jumped right in the story. Loved the ending so much I'm not going ruin by saying anything about it.
Excellent narrarater, He was perfect for this story. I would definitely recommend this book to all, who love reading psychological thrillers.

Didn't see that coming!

This is one of those stories after knowing the ending will make you want to listen again. It was ok, for the longest I thought it was a Sci-Fi novel, it wasn't but I don't think I would call it a psychological thriller either. The narrator was ok...men just cannot do justice to the female voice. I may listen again now that I know the end, I am sure I will see the twists and turns a lot more clearly.
