About this listen

From USA Today bestselling author Ava Harrison comes a new standalone hockey romance.

My dad abandoned me as a baby.

My mom just kicked me out.

Oh, and I can’t stand hockey.

It’s shocking how many drunken secrets Dane Sinclair fleeces from me the night we meet.

It’s supposed to be a one-night stand.

No numbers.

No strings attached.

A release we both desperately need.

Neither of us expect to come face-to-face again on my first day working for the Redville Saints.

Dane thinks I targeted him.

That I seduced him, knowing he’s their star enforcer.

Despite his suspicions, he can’t stay away from me.

I’m his dirty little secret.

His coach’s off-limits daughter.

The whole world thinks he’s a Saint.

It’s about to find out behind the squeaky clean exterior is just another sinner.

Hockey Romance with a Twist

I am really enjoying these hockey romances from Ava! I never know what is going to happen and what twists she will throw in the story.
Dane and Josie are the perfect balance for each other. I loved the way Dane was with Josie. It was really sweet. And when he gives her a nickname of hellfire, you know she has some sass to her.
Dane is the hockey player who uses his strength on the ice. And he has this softer side that not many get to see. The way he took care of his sister and what he did to make that happen will melt your heart.

Audio Review:
Andi and Lance did really good bringing this story to the ears of listeners. As always, Andi hits those emotions in the story that make you feel like you are there with the characters.
Lance is one I always enjoy. His tone is pleasant to listen to. Not overly gruff but still has a little bit of edge to his tone.

I can't wait for the next book in the series.

2.5 - NOT MY FAVORITE

NHL Player Dane and Josie’s story was one of those listen that was, for me, just a “meh” okay listen. 22 yo Josie said it herself.. she knew she was acting like a petulant child for quite a bit of the story. Thankfully she did grow up 80% in.. however, I couldn’t help visualizing her as an immature young YA. Grumpy 31 yo Dane had secrets from his past - which would do damage to this couple’s secret relationship. It’s enjoyable enough - but I didn’t really feel the chemistry, the ground move or the grown up romance or love.

Worth a credit? For me, this story dragged, felt YA and went on for way too long. So, despite Andi and Lance’s great narration, I’m going to have to pass on recommending this listen.

Ummmmmm

Book started off great, but the plot as well as the story seemed to take forever. Also, Lance wasn’t the best narrator for this. I didn’t like him because of all of the pauses he does and he tries to be too dramatic when he’s reading.
