About this listen

Reluctantly, Vicky and Joe leave their Spanish mountain village to work for a year in the Middle East.

How could they know that the Arab revolution was poised to erupt, throwing them into violent events that would make world headlines?

Teaching Arab kids, working with crazy teachers, forming life-long friendships and being placed under house arrest, Vicky and Joe laugh and lurch through their year in Bahrain.

This third Old Fools book has a different setting as Victoria and her husband move to the Middle East to teach in a school. It's a bit more serious as it takes place during an Arab uprising. Yet it's full of funny and delightful adventures causing many laugh-out-loud moments. Looking forward to their return to Spain in the next book. Sure would be lovely if audible.com would record books 4-6. Jilly Bond does a fantastic performance as the narrator.

Another delightful book by Victoria Twead

While it was entertaining to download another year with the familiar Joe and Vickie, their location was a strain. Interesting to have their view of their experiences, but I couldn't wait for them to leave.

Tales of familiar friends

I enjoyed this humorous story, a good follow-up to. "Two old fools and a mule". It feels like I'm listening to a favorite aunt telling stories. I am looking forward to the next book in the series.

Cute story about a couple and their year teaching in Bahrain.

Victoria Twead weaves a terrific story only to be enhanced by Jilly Bonds narration which captivates from beginning to end.

Great Story enhanced by the narrator

This is by far the best book of the series. This author has the extraordinary ability to turn ordinary life events into a fascinating drama. However, her outstanding ability to humanize the unimaginable traumas of human cruelty and open the reader’s heart is truly her gift. Thank you.

Best one yet!!!!
