About this listen

I thought I had found a place to belong.

But the werewolf king was lying to me–the one thing I begged him never to do.

Turns out, I’m his mate.

When I stalked out of his house–and out of his life–I figured I’d never see him again.

But then I learned that Kyla had gone into the seelie realm to steal the sword tied to her fate. Alone.

So now I’m sneaking in after her. And the werewolf king? He’s sneaking in after me.

Unfortunately, we don’t have time to fight amongst ourselves. Because our enemies have been working together. And if we’re going to get out of here alive, save our realm, and burn HFE to the ground…we need to do the same.

I’ll cooperate. I’ll work with Nathaniel to save our people. And I’ll keep my heart locked away where he can’t find it.

Wish me luck.

If you like K.F Breene, Ilona Andrews, Patricia Briggs, Faith Hunter, Laurell K. Hamilton, Jennifer Estep, Shannon Mayer, Kim Harrison, and Dannika Dark, you’ll love this series.

I love this universe and these books. The characters are so well done and the story keeps you interested and wanting more! I'm glad we got to see Evie grow and get some wins after so many losses. After the Deals with Demons series I'm reading every book from this world. I can't wait for the next!

Love this Universe!

I start by saying that I still like the series. Evie’s part of it just isn’t as well written as the previous installments.
I still get irritated every time this narrator mispronounces words. It’s just a huge nope.
The story line is carried forward in this book. The plot points are good. The problem is that it is so packed with events that everything ends up feeling rushed. In an attempt to conclude the Evie / Nate storyline and move on to the next thing, too much stuff was shoved into this book.

While I like the story, especially as a substory to Danika’s story-WHY ON EARTH did they chose to pronounce things differently on the audio?! It’s so annoying. The Griffin’s name, their last names…it’s odd.
Otherwise -I love these stories.

This drove me nuts…

Sooo good!!!

I was surprised that Deals with Demons didn’t include confronting the mother’s killers, but at least we finally got it here. Not a huge fan of the narrator but I enjoyed the story.

Finally we get resolution.

It was pretty good but I really struggled with the narrator. Her cadence when voicing Evie and her mispronunciation of multiple character names made it difficult to be fully emersed in the story. I also thought Evie's character development was weak compared to the previous series.

Not as good as "Deals with Demons"
