About this listen
Stone Barrington finds intrigue abroad in the sensational new thriller by the New York Times best-selling author.
Stone Barrington is no stranger to schemes and deceptions of all stripes - as an attorney for the premier white-shoe law firm Woodman & Weld, he’s seen more than his share. But when he travels to Europe under highly unusual circumstances, Stone finds himself at the center of a mystery that is, even by his standards, most peculiar. Two unexpected invitations may be the first clues in an intricate puzzle Stone must unravel to learn the truth...a puzzle that will lead him deep into the rarefied world of European ultrawealth and privilege, where billionaires rub elbows with spooks, insider knowledge is traded at a high premium, and murder is never too high a price to pay for a desired end. It soon becomes clear that beneath the bright lights of Europe lurks a shadowy underworld...and its only rule is deadly ambition.

So while his new home isn’t perfect, it’s livable. The rent is low, the property managers are friendly, and the odd little mysteries don’t nag at him too much. At least, not until he meets Mandy, his neighbor across the hall, and notices something unusual about her apartment. And Xela’s apartment. And Tim’s. And Veek’s.

Story
A behind-the-scenes operator at the CIA, Wallace was integral to the agency's secret war against China's national intelligence service, which infiltrates government offices, major businesses, and systems crucial to our security. Wallace had severely damaged China's Washington spy ring with a devastating ruse, a so-called "black swan", in which a deep-undercover female agent targeted and destroyed a key Chinese official. Now, Wallace's mysterious death suggests that the CIA itself has been compromised and that China has someone inside the agency.

Excelent
Always great, just as I would expect. Like that there were many new characters and new women to bed or that bedded Mr Woods. What a life.

Stone Never Disappoints
Interesting twist as Stone goes to Paris. It was a little confusing as to what actually happened on his way to Paris but as the story gathers the other colorful characters along the way, one forgets to wonder about the beginning. The only disappointment was this book’s lady friend as she wasn’t really likable.

Same ole Barrington
Love the characters in the Barrington books, love the narrator, but do get very tired of Woods living out his sexual fantasies through Stone. I have read most of the Stone Barrington books and enjoy them. Roberts gives the characters so much personality. The constant irresponsible hopping in and out of bed annoys me and I keep thinking I won't read another one.

Unintended Consequences
I like that his books are light and entertaining but this one was not believable. It was a little over the top with how rich people and the CIA can do things. I like my stories to be more fun believable but I still like the Stone Barrington series.

I love all things Stone ....but
What made the experience of listening to Unintended Consequences the most enjoyable?
Tony Roberts makes this series. He is the voice of Stone and everyone else.
Would you recommend Unintended Consequences to your friends? Why or why not?
Yes I would recommend this to a friend. As usual, this is a light read/listen. I usually listen to this series of books while I sew..
What does Tony Roberts bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
He is fabulous in his narration. The characters each have their own personality that you instantly recognize as soon as you hear them "talk". Mr. Roberts is Stone.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
No, this series of books is very light and is not something that keeps you on the edge of your seat.
Any additional comments?
I love this series of books, they are easy to listen and characters are great. What made the listening less than a five star review was I got the feeling that the story was written as the author was writing the story. There was thing that popped up, seemed important, and was dropped shortly afterwards with no explanation of why it was included and why it was dropped. That bothered me a great deal.

Who was your favorite character and why?
Stone is first with Marcel and Olga but they were all good
What about Tony Roberts’s performance did you like?
It would be very difficult if not impossible to find a more professional reader as always Mr Roberts nails the characters and I hope he continues reading What an ejoyment to listen to
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Loved the storyline and the reader and yes I would if I could have
Any additional comments?
Mr Woods has had a long run with Stone and I hope it will keep on running Look forward to the next one

Stone being Stone
Lovers of Stone will be happy, I was. Kind of the usual stuff for stone, just as expected. Not much Dino in this book. Stone under threat from and chasing women around Europe.
I think the reader is perfect for this series and think it's great he has been the reader for all the books.

Tony Roberts is terrible
Would you consider the audio edition of Unintended Consequences to be better than the print version?
No. The narration was almost enough to ruin the listen.
How did the narrator detract from the book?
All New York characters other than Stone B were the same and ridiculously over played.

Another fun read.
Never disappointed in Stone's exploits. Dino finally gets something for himself. Not as suspenseful as some books, but still enjoyed it.
