About this listen

Many pastors and ministry leaders are constantly on the lookout for resources that can provide fresh insights and effective strategies for helping their flock grow spiritually and numerically. The Christian DISC® is a spiritual personality assessment tool designed specifically for Christian work and ministry. Based on the widely used DISC personality system, the Christian DISC® integrates insights from scripture and emotional intelligence, and is used by churches, ministries, organizations, and professionals across the country. This short book serves as a primer and guide to its application within your church and ministry.

Our story is set within the vibrant backdrop of Starlight Park Community Church (a local church much like your own), and is guided by the leadership of Pastor Miguel. Through the church's fictional (but based on a true story) narrative, the book unveils the profound impact of employing the Christian DISC® Assessment within the church's staff and congregation. By using the assessment, Pastor Miguel unveils the unique personality types among his staff, thus allowing them to better understand themselves and each other. By recognizing and appreciating the distinct ways God has designed and gifted each individual, Pastor Miguel's team experiences an extraordinary transformation that strengthens their relationships, bolsters their collaboration, and deepens their commitment to the mission of the church. This is followed by several chapters dedicated to each of the four personality types, delving into some of the strengths and weaknesses of each type as they relate to spiritual growth and ministry.

Beyond the church staff, Pastor Miguel introduces the Christian DISC® Assessment to the broader congregation. In understanding their unique Christian DISC® types, congregants begin to recognize the diversity of gifts and personalities within their church family. This newfound understanding fosters increased empathy, harmonious interaction, and increased volunteerism, giving rebirth to a more connected and vibrant church community.
