About this listen

Samantha Moon would go to the ends of the Earth to stop Elizabeth....

Or into another world entirely.

Fourteen years ago, her life forever changed, entwined with the darkest of dark vampires.

From that night forward, Elizabeth has been part of her, ever a step ahead.

However, the Dark One grows impatient.

Taking over modern Earth presents certain annoyances for a vampire army, like mortals with access to nuclear weapons.

However, an alternate world much like ours from 2,000 years ago would be defenseless against her.

Temptation proves too great.

Elizabeth abandons Earth, bent on repeating the war of domination that sent her to The Void five hundred years ago.

Earth may be safe, but Sam cannot stand by and let her enslave an entire alien world.

With her daughter, son, and Max at her side, she seizes a rare opportunity to catch Elizabeth off guard.

Let the battle begin...

I read as a stand alone

Okay I have read maybe 3 books in the series and they were all out of order which is on me. In spite of the fact that this is number 21 I was able to get into it without much trouble. The narrator is absolutely phenomenal. The storyline is extremely busy and action packed. There's no real down time in it for the characters they go go go. I appreciate the effort taken so that a reader is not too lost if they start the series here

Very good but listen to or read the rest first

Good story well written and narrated. However please make sure you have read or listened to the others first, the series does an amazing job with character development but consequently many nuances will be lost if you don’t keep up to date on all their going ons. I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

The poor narration negates the quality of the story

I have listened to all of the books in this series, and loved them. This one suffered from poor narration. The odd cadence and inflections made the writing seem like it was not up to par, I have not experienced that in the other books, so I assume that the writing was the same and the vocal was the issue. This book in particular feels more like reading a long form video game, they even reference video games a few times in the book which punctuated that general vibe.

Weak narration

All of the characters sound the same. I don't know why the narrator was replaced. I won't continue with the series if this is the narrator.
