About this listen

No one solves cases like San Francisco detectives, Peyton Brooks and her partner, Marco D’Angelo, but when a young Mexican folk singer, Ynes Linares, is found strangled with her own pearls, compiling a list of suspects that wanted to harm her is easier than figuring out who didn’t. Everyone wanted a piece of the Velvet Sapphire, but someone wanted everything.

A Peyton Brooks Homicide follows San Francisco’s dynamic crime-fighting duo, Peyton Brooks and Marco D’Angelo, through their early cases in the Homicide Division.

What’s wonderful and delifef book. It short and funny and still serious when it comes murder. Kelly with her delifeful voice made you sit on the edge of your waiting for what would happen next. I really love and enjoy this series from the beginning when she first started with marco became partners. Can’t wait until the next one comes out. It made me relize how hard it is being a cop and the danger they are in finding the murders. Keep them coming. Recommend reading.

Velvet Sapphire (A Peyton Brooks Homicide: The Early Cases #3) was a great read by the author. San Francisco detectives, Peyton Brooks and her partner Marco D'Angelo, solve cases like no one else. A young Mexican folk singer, Ynes Linares, is found strangled with her pearls. I absolutely love the life that Kelley Hazen brings to the characters. I cant wait to read more by the author.

I was voluntarily provided this free review copy audiobook by the narrator and enjoyed it very much. As with all the other Peyton books, this book is suspenseful, action packed and humorous showing society in all its shades. Returning to a time when Peyton and Marco are creating they're bond as they work on recent murder case. This combination of author and narrator creates pure enjoyment. Looking forward to more Peyton and Marco adventures.

Another great early case solved by Peyton and Marco! Seeing the relationship between these two young detectives build and grow is fantastic. Even early on you can tell their chemistry is something special.

ML Hamilton puts just enough twists and turns within the plot to keep you guessing and in the end everything comes together perfectly. I can't wait for the next book in this series.

The narration is so entertaining. Listening to Kelley Hazen's performance is like watching a movie in my head. There's never any doubt as to which characters are speaking and all the emotions come through loud and clear.

I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and I have voluntarily left this review.
