Publisher's summary

Sometimes the best offense is a good rebound...

Adam McCarthy has had a really bad week. In addition to nearly losing his three brothers in a tragic boating accident, his now ex-girlfriend has double-crossed him right out of the successful computer company he founded in New York City. What he needs is a few days at home on Gansett Island to make sure his beloved brothers are safe and to get back in touch with what really matters - his family, his friends and the tiny island that soothes his battered soul. On the ferry ride home, he runs into an old family friend who's had her own share of heartache, and Adam helps her through some rough moments, sparking an unlikely alliance.

Abby Callahan has come home to Gansett, single once again after her relationship with Dr. Cal Maitland blows up in her face. After two epic failures in the game of love, she's decided this is going to be the summer she busts loose and finally has some fun - and she's shaking things up in a big way! The new Abby swears, drinks, gets a tattoo, sleeps around and generally does anything her kinder, gentler alter ego wouldn't have dreamed of doing.

Before too long, Adam has appointed himself her guardian and is determined that the only sleeping around she's doing is with him. That is unless his brother Grant is willing to risk his newfound happiness with Stephanie to keep Adam from rebounding with his ex. And what happens when Adam and Abby realize their summer fling has taken a serious turn, especially when he gets the chance to return to New York and fight for the company that's rightfully his? Abby has already followed two men off the island. Does she have it in her to find out if the third time really is the charm?

Another wild summer on Gansett Island is under way, complete with new stories for many of your favorite couples from past books! You'll also see more of Dan and Kara, David and Daisy, and find out whether Carolina has made peace with her relationship with the much younger and very sexy Irishman, Seamus O'Grady. Ready? Set? Let's go back to Gansett Island!

Author's Note: While Waiting for Love is more or less intended to be a stand-alone story, you'll enjoy it so much more if you read the earlier books in the McCarthys of Gansett Island series first.

Satisfying

Another satisfying love story by Marie Force. I. Love this series and the way she weaves each book together with the last one. Looking forward to reading the next book.

Awesome book. Terrible narration

I really wanted to listen to this series but after only a few minutes, I couldn't stand the narration. Those huge breaths between every sentence drove me nuts.

An enjoyable listen.

I enjoyed this listen and the chance to hear Adam's story. Although it works as a stand alone it is probably more interesting and engaging when listened to as part of the series. I enjoyed reconnecting with characters introduced in earlier books almost as much as I did with the main characters in this listen.

Poor quality recording

I really liked this book but the quality of the recording is scratchy and noisy. This is the first book in this series with quality issues. Hopefully the next will be better.

For the future books!!!

there was a background sound through the entire story, like a fan was on next to the microphone, made this book difficult to enjoy.

So happy for Adam and Abbie

Third times the charm! So happy to be back on gansett with the mcArthys
I love the way each story sees more maturity among the men and a strength among the women to help the men grow and be leaders of their families.

I love how Marie continues the stories of the past characters, but I really wanted more Adam and Abby! They may be my favorite couple so far!!!

Waiting For Love

I have read the whole series of Gansett Island by Marie force as well as all.her other novels. Waiting For Love is my favourite book of the series and Adam and Abby are my favourite couple. This is my first audio book and I really enjoyed listening no reading at the same time. I thought Holly Fielding did an excellent job on most characters but I was disappointed in Adam's voice! It should have been bolder with more mischief and amusement Look forward to more listening time with Gansett Island

easy, enjoyable listen

I found this enjoyable and an easy listen. Given it was an audio book, the numerous side stories was a bit disconcerting and it took a while to sort out who was who especially as this was the first book that I read in the series. The narrator did a good enough job, not adding nor detracting from the storyline.

As the tension between the two main characters was overshadowed by the numerous side stories some of which tendered to be just a 'repeat' of each other , I would think twice about listening to another book by this author.
