About this listen

Watch out for the Assassin’s Claws....

Clay Moreno is a paid killer, just like his four brothers. It’s the family business - they fight together, they die together. Whether they’re working as a group or alone, they are a tight unit who protect their own.

Clay drew the short straw on their latest mission: Assassinate the American president. He knew the case was going to be tough, but the last thing he expected to find was his mate...the president’s own son. The fact that he began the case with plans to seduce his way into the White House via that same son is beside the point. What his mate doesn’t know shouldn’t hurt him....

Nick Jackson is lonely and ordinary in a family of overachievers. He doesn’t want to do photo ops for the press, prep for the next year’s tests over the summer or any of the hundreds of other things his mother hassles him about. All he wants is to relax after his first year of college, work on his tan...and maybe find a boy to flirt with.

This is the first in a new series of short listens. Note: While MPREG exists in this world, we won’t have a birth in every book. This book contains killer cats, ninja bunnies, and a life-changing mating bite. Get ready for naughty-knotty fun and low-ball humor as only Susi Hawke can provide.

This was a great read and listening to it was amazing. The narrator gave the characters so much character you fall in love with them. Can’t wait for book two.

This first in the series introduces the Moreno clan, focusing on Clay and a secret plot to kill the President of the US. There are enough unique plot points to keep me interested, and keep the story moving. There are a few unrealistic reactions in the book, however, this is a fictional book and meant to be fun and sweet. I give it a 3.5 or 4 stars rating. The audiobook was not my favorite. Kenneth Obi attempts to give Clay an accent, however, it is a muddy type of non-specific accent that is thick in one sentence and non-existent in the next. It was rather annoying to me, as I am an audiobook addict and crave beautiful accents. This book was a cute bit of romantic action fun!

Interesting human/shifter story

This is a fun new series that is a perfect typical Susi Hawke book with a lot of humor, some sexy times, and just a touch of mystery.
Clay's entire family is assassins and he just got the assignment to kill the American President. The last thing he thought he would find on his mission was his mate, Nick - and who would have thought it would have been the President's son. But can
Clay really kill his mate's father?
While this is a short length book, it is still a perfect read! It truly has everything! The chemistry between Clay and Nick is amazing and is evident in their interactions. The storyline is fun and entertaining to read and its easy to devour in one sitting.
I love the collaboration between Hawke and Kenneth Obi. He truly does an amazing job bringing the characters to life. He possesses a unique talent to bring out the humor and nuances of Hawke's writing. This was an amazing listen, and I can't wait for more!

When Clay was assigned to eliminate a high profile target, he didn't expect to find his mate in his target sons.
The relationship between Clay and Nick was an instant love kind of situation.
There is passion, chemistry, mystery, action and some crazy bunnies involved in this plot.
Definitely and entertaining tale to listen to.

The narration was great and for a first in the series, it grabs your attention.

I love everything About this author! I already loved the story didn’t think I end up loving it more. I was wrong! Lol the narrator actually made me feel like I had the story playing right in my head more than when I read it. I loved how easily he adapted to the voices and how good he made everything sound!

It is better when it’s told to you!

Hawke always gives us such fun reads/listens and this one was no exception and is a great start to a new series. I have slight personal irritations because I am Portuguese and the names really don't fit, Moreno is a Spanish last name and that is forgivable since they do border and it's entirely possible but the first names just don't work for me considering they still Live in Portugal had they been living in the US it might have been more believable for me. As for the narration Obi does a good job. Overall it's a good listen and most people wouldn't even notice my personal issues.

Another fun listen
