About this listen

A cartel kingpin. A botched raid. A blood-soaked vendetta.

When Mexico’s deadliest cartel, La Manada, spills blood on American soil, Delta Force Captain Axel Blaze gets the call. His mission: capture cartel boss Javier Salazar and crush his empire.

No red tape. No half-measures. But when an ambush forces Blaze to pull back stateside, the cartel takes the fight across the border—hitting civilians, targeting officials, daring him to respond. Now, it’s personal.

This time, it’s not about taking prisoners—it’s about ending threats. Blaze is coming for Salazar, and he won’t stop until La Manada is nothing but a smoldering memory.

Holy hell, the pace on this thing! Every time I thought Blaze might chill for a sec, boom—more bullets fly. It’s lean, mean, and packed with strategy. Runner’s writing keeps you locked in. And James D Sasser? Dude’s voice fits Blaze like a glove. Absolute beast of a listen.

Blaze is like a smarter, meaner John Wick with military gear. He plans, he strikes, and when he goes full berserker—game over. No crying or soul-searching, just cold, calculated revenge. Exactly what I needed. Didn’t think audiobooks could hype me up like this, but here we are.

This audiobook had me hooked within the first five minutes. From the failed raid to the brutal retaliation by the cartel, the story barrels forward with unstoppable momentum. The dynamic between Blaze and his team is tight, authentic, and full of military lingo that adds depth without confusion. I especially loved the shift when the battle crosses into U.S. territory—it felt like the stakes doubled. James D Sasser nailed the intensity and grit of the story. I binge-listened to it in one go. A brilliant entry in a consistently excellent series.

This is action-thriller storytelling at its finest. Bill Runner has a talent for balancing strategic military operations with raw, unfiltered emotion. Blaze’s vendetta against Salazar feels deeply personal and justified. The pacing is perfect—quick but not rushed—and each confrontation feels earned. The scenes are vividly described, and the soundscape created through Sasser’s voice work makes everything pop. If you're craving a thriller that never backs down, Warpath delivers in spades.

This audiobook is filled with adrenaline and action-packed sequences, but I found the pacing slightly uneven in the middle. There’s a stretch where things slow down before ramping up to an unforgettable final act. Axel Blaze is still one of the best characters in modern thrillers, and his takedown of La Manada is nothing short of epic. The narration carries the story smoothly through the slow parts. Overall, a strong and worthwhile listen with a few pacing hiccups.

I was hooked from the first damn chapter. Blaze doesn’t waste time, and neither does this book. It’s all muscle, no fat. If you like your heroes gritty and your villains nasty, you're in the right place. Sasser’s narration brings it all to life. Cartels, shootouts, vengeance—what more do you need?

Had to pause work just to finish this one. It’s that gripping. Blaze is all about efficiency—every fight feels earned, every move smart. I hate thrillers with too much soap opera crap—this book avoids all that. Just fists, firepower, and vengeance. Loved it.

Nothing drags. Every chapter kicks you forward. Runner knows how to balance plot with pure action. Blaze is ruthless but never dumb. He hits where it hurts, and the story just keeps building. If you want downtime, look elsewhere. This is all business.

Man, Blaze doesn’t just fight—he outsmarts everyone. The scenes in Tijuana were next-level, and when the fight moves to U.S. soil, it gets personal. Loved the vigilante edge. Felt like watching a tactical movie. Sasser’s narration gave it that extra kick. Highly recommend if you like your thrillers rough and raw.

You mess with Blaze, you better be ready for the storm. The way he tracks Salazar is so methodical, it’s scary. The cartel had no shot. Fast, tight writing with zero fluff. I’d take a dozen more of these. Audiobook was A+, thanks to Sasser’s rock-solid delivery.
