Evil soon rears its ugly head and plunges the marine into the fight for his life, casting him into the darkness. The narrator didn’t seem to embrace the spirit of the book and didn’t honestly have the inflection with his delivery to sell the story.
At times his pronunciation was a bit suspect as well. But good try.

I am a Marine and I enjoyed the storyline.

the book was ok at best. The fight scenes are poorly written at best, there was clearly no research on how special force operations are run and fought. The speech ans lingo were off. In one screen, a guy outruns a grizzly....all three books were not worth listening to.

reader was excellent

Overly reliant on clichés and implausible scenarios, this military novel squanders its potential. While the series shows promise, the author undermines it with repetitive tropes and plotlines that stretch believability to the breaking point.

A promising concept lost in a sea of clichés.

I really like the stories in this series, but the reader mispronounces so many words that it’s hard to focus.

Great story, poor reader

It has great characters, story moves without going too fast or too slow. It's the job many of us wish we had and could perform

Brotherhood of those who served

This audio series was just awesome. I have read the book's, but enjoyed this much better. C.G. is the just the BEST.

characters come to life with narrator

Perhaps I'm a perfectionist, but when I'm bothered enough to temporarily lose track of the story because the narrator grossly mispronounces a name or "properly " pronounces a word or name that doesn't fit the vernacular, it distracts greatly from the story.

Narrator disappointment

I've read the majority of this series and really enjoyed the books so thought listening would be pretty fun. It was! The narrator though pronounced some words differently, not saying right or wrong, just different than I've heard before so I had to think about what he was saying. By the third book, I was used to it and I enjoyed the voices he used for the characters. this was better than the second omnibus of books 4-6, the narration I mean. I am not going to listen to the rest as it can't compare to reading for me AND I see that the narrators change a lot throughout the series which, to me, is not fun. I like being able to recognize the charactesr by the voices the narrator gives them.

Listening to this was fun

Just finished reading ALL of Steven Konkoly’s books and needed something to get me to his next release.

This did the trick. I’m hooked on the series, time for book 4!

Excellent!
