Too short but so beautiful.
For some reason the sound seemed much lower on this recording than typical for Audible.

This book was recommended to me by a member of a book club I’m in. I was skeptical about it thinking it would be a rant about women’s rights filled with vitriol and anger like so many women’s rights books. It was nothing like that and I am so glad I got it. I’ve never thought of myself as a Feminist but from Chimamanda’s viewpoint she the blew the stereotypical definition out of the water. In her eyes I am a feminist.

Not what i expected

This is an insightful quick listen/read for everyone. An interesting perspective from an intelligent author about the meaning of feminism. She provides some very good suggestions about how we can help our children, too. Well worth a listen.

WE means men and women

A ton of relatable information in this piece. Thank you for helping me as I unlearn some of the things that are stuck in my head today just because I was raised as a girl child in a society where women are seen in the shadow of the man next to them. If you do not have a man, you are almost invisible! Great listen!

Thank you Chimamanda

For anyone who thinks “feminism” is a dirty work should read or listen to this as well as bell hooks’ “Feminism is for Everybody.”

Excellent Read for all

This is an awesome point of you and so non-confrontational. I came from an erroneous paradigm from an old Christian mindsets that controlled women by the improper hermeneutics regarding the topic. Unfortunately, there are many men who are not ready to concede that this is a form of prejudice that is totally unwarranted.

A refreshing treatise on a topic that needs to be addressed

This is how I’ve always thought of the word “feminism.” Equality, fairness, empathy towards one another, identifying barriers we all face and how our genders affects our lives. This is so beautifully written and narrated. Easily one of my new favorites. It’s not anti-male, its not pointing any fingers or purely one-sided. My only negative is that there isn’t more. I could probably listen to Chimamanda speak on this subject for hours.
