About this listen

One last job, and he's done for good...until two rookie agents ruin it all.

Don't miss the first action-packed novel in the Black Ghost Thriller series!

Bic Green, a.k.a. Black Ghost, is a world-class contract killer. Tormented by his inner demons, he clings to absolution from his evils by channeling his funds toward his goddaughter, Gracie, to help in her quest to cure cancer. In his final job, Bic plans each murder meticulously, creating elaborate ways to make each death look accidental.

No one suspects a thing until rookie FBI agents, Caroline Foxx and her partner Mack Maddox, stumble upon an unusual clue, a raw pork chop. They quickly begin to unravel the insidious plot. With billionaires dropping like flies and their superiors ordering them to stand down, they push forward until they find themselves deep in the crosshairs of the Black Ghost.

If you like David Baldacci's Will Robie, you will love Bic Green. Similar in style to masters like James Patterson, Freddie Villacci, Jr., is the up-and-coming author to read.

Florida

Difficult to keep track of characters. Confusing beginning. In the fence about Scott Brick. Like him but a bit monotonous tone.

Full of action

I enjoyed Black Ghost throughout. Even though I’m very familiar with Scott Brick, and his performance was great, I’m new to Freddie Villacci Jr., so it did take a few chapters to really settle into the story.
The characters were likable and the story flowed well. I would have liked a bit more character development, in the beginning, but, the story didn’t suffer from it.
The one main fault I have with the story, was when the author talked about “a clip or clips”, he actually meant “magazine”, not clip, as in a clip for an M1 Garand. Clip is often confused this way, but, an author has the responsibility to research the subject well enough to avoid this kind of amateur mistake. It very much sticks out to those that are familiar with firearms, and may then cheapen the story. In addition, “Mac” also mentions, just having had his weapon cleaned, as though someone else had performed the task for him. I find that very unlikely. I don’t depend on anyone else to clean my weapons, and I’ve never heard of anyone doing that…again research.
I would like to thank the author for providing a free audible copy of the book, in exchange for an unbiased review. I look forward to the next book in the series.

Great Listening Book

Been awhile since I’ve listened to such a amazing action packed thriller with twist & turns and high government finances. As always Scott Brick is “A” number one reader. On to the next in series….

Good story, strange ending

The story was good with some good action and pace. The relationships between the characters were a bit too obvious.
The ending was really weird and left me a bit disappointed as it completely made no sense.

I'm with the rest group in that I can't get the phrase "pork chop eating time" out of my mind. Such a great story with lots of twists and turns. Anxiously awaiting the next release from this author!

So fun: "It's Porkchop Eating Time"

Review of Audiobook- Black Ghost: Black Ghost Thriller, Book 1 by Freddie Villacci Jr., Performed by Scott Brick

If there was one thing I wasn’t expecting after listening to this novel, it was getting one phrase stuck in my head so that I repeated it often. That wouldn’t be a big deal, but you get funny looks when you walk around saying, “It’s pork chop eating time”.

I loved the premise of this book. You have an assassin trying to make the world a better place in his own way. Not just by taking out the bad guys, but by investing in a cure for cancer. Throw in all the action-packed scenes, unique twists, and intriguing storyline, and the book is easily a five-star listen.

To make it even better, this book was narrated by one of the best narrators in the business! Scott Brick brought another stellar performance to add to his collection of greats. He really knows how to make subtle changes and differences to aid the story and never goes further than it should. A perfect narration of an awesomely fun and unique thriller by Freddie Villacci Jr.

Looking forward to listening to the second installment of the series, The Cure: A Black Ghost Thriller! “It’s pork chop eating time”
