As in the other novels I have read by Nicki Huntsman Smith, the pace is fast and the plot exciting. I had trouble putting it down. This novel takes place in a small Appalachian settlement. Without any spoilers, the twists and turns in this novel keep the reader's/listeners rapt attention
Just as the story is ending, an unexpected cliffhanger appears. this has me anxiously awaiting the next book in this series. These are some of the most interesting post apocalyptic novels I have read.
