Critic reviews

"[Narrator Zara] Ramm wears her characters' voices like old friends, smoothly dipping into blunt East End accents and coarser tones for the gentlemen." ( AudioFile)

Solid entry in the series

This book takes Max through the education of a new group of St Mary's trainees. As such, it's a bit episodic with various time periods offering chances for disaster. You learn new things about some of the continuing characters. Zara Ramm's narration as always is fantastic.

amazing as always Ms. Taylor

Fantastic storyline, well read by Ms. Ramm. Always exciting and filled with the unexpected unlike most books of this genre. A female lead with strength and resilience will make young girls everywhere feel they can be their own Indiana Jones of sorts.

Outstanding

If you are looking at this review, it is undoubtedly because you have read or listened to the first five books of the series. If you have not read them, stop what you are doing and immediately purchase Just One Damned Thing After Another. I warn you that you have many hours of enjoyment ahead of you.

What Could Possibly Go Wrong lives up to the previous books in the series. Zara Ramm's narration continues to be the ideal complement to the satirical writing style of Jodi Taylor, bringing to life wonderful and irreverent characters. Max is a true Wise Ass that is hard not to love. If you are reading or listening to this book in a public place or a library, be warned that you will likely burst out laughing, and you may get some odd looks from the people near you.

Still amazing and funny

Book 6 in the series and I’m still laughing and amazed at where Ms Taylor’s mind can wander. Or bulldoze.
Max and Peterson have switched jobs, so she gets 5 recruits to mold as
Chief Training Officer. Their first assignment is in the Valley of the Kings, 18th Dynasty which, of course, means they almost drown in a flood.
I shake my head in wonder how Ms Taylor comes up with exploding septics and pigs; Leon and the cup holders; transporting Mastodons; scuffling with Herodotus; references to the Beatles; a barf riot; and being hijacked to 1485 - ?
Then there’s the more subtle humor of Max and Ms Partridge having a whole visual conversation ‘in a manner that conveyed volumes’. (Chapter5 34:29min)
Then there’s Englishisms like: “As Hunter said ‘Markham without mange was like Spotted without the Dick’” (look it up).
And oh, what a surprise at the end!
Ramm does a decent job of narration.

Great as usual!

I've become hopelessly addicted to these books. If you are looking for a fun, easy read...these are books for you. And the narrator is absolutely wonderful.

Best yet!

I love the books, the main characters, and the narrator! I hated that it ended. I parceled every second out carefully. I suspect we are nearing the end of the series but really this author and narrator should stick together. Yay Max!
