This children's book is based on a true story as experienced by Dr. Amen himself. One day while watching a penguin named Fat Freddy take part in a stunt show at a local amusement park, he is astonished to see the penguin perform so well. Frustrated by his own son's behavior, Dr. Amen decides to talk with the trainer after the show to find out how she got the penguin to follow all of her directions. Through clever rhyme and storytelling, the trainer shares with Dr. Amen the power of positive reinforcement.

Though designed with elementary school students in mind, this story has taught people of all ages a valuable, life-changing lesson.

Penguins are fascinating. What I learned from Dr Amen and Fat Freddy is at the heart of what is often so easily overlooked. Thank you Fat Freddy for your ability to learn, teach, entertain, and most of all for being a lover for life. Thank you Dr. Amen for the reminder that looking for, appreciating, and celebrating "the good" vs. "the undesirable" behaviors, not only in my own family, but in all people, is the best way to inspire change and the development of integrity.

I love Dr. Amens work or I did. I bought this and didn't really look well/notice it was 9 minutes long. I feel dumb and cheated. It's a poem. Don't waste your money.

I don't think I'll buy any more of his work. Really. $13 dollars to hear someone read a poem? My mistake, but his too. Never cheat an audience who likes your work.
