About this listen

A new breed of terror that rises from the depths of the ocean. To hunt. To devour. To kill.

The first attack occurs in the underwater caverns of the Bahamas. Two professional divers exploring the unknown. A monstrous flesh-ripping predator they never see coming.

Now the attacks are coming closer and closer to shore. A sun-soaked playground for sea-loving tourists. A human feasting ground for whatever lurks beneath.

Now, in a desperate race against time, Eric Watson, an expert on remote control underwater vehicles, and marine biologist Valerie Martell, must identify a savage new species of killer — and piece together one of nature’s most horrific mysteries. But the most terrifying discovery of all waits for Val and her team at the bottom of the sea. A discovery too shocking to comprehend.

Because up 'til now, this creature existed only in mankind’s darkest nightmares. Not anymore.

Performed by Ken Jackson, Nanna Ingvarsson, Patrick Bussink, Evan Casey, James Konicek, Deidra Starnes, Andy Brownstein, James Lewis, Dexter Hamlett, KenYatta Rogers, Thomas Keegan, Michael Glenn, Ericka Rose, Colleen Delany, David Jourdan, Dawn Ursula, Yasmin Tuazon, Nanette Savard, Michael John Casey, Scott McCormick, Richard Rohan.

Not as good as the fist book. Worth listening to if you enjoy the genre.

Worth a listen

Fun to listen to but the story was predictable and hokey. The audio effects were good though.

Cheesy

I really enjoyed the book and have recommended it quite a lot recently. It is predictable but the cast is great (as always), the sound effects are phenomenal, and the story from the creature's perspective had me invested.

Predictable but a really fun listen

I listened to this one during a free listen promotion and it was well worth the listen.
I have been listening to a bunch of deep sea monster stories and this kept the vibe going.
And now i get to add caves to the list of things i am NEVER going into!!!
Ha ha
Good performance. Not Oscar worthy, but a lot better than a straight narration.

A great story to distract me from my good .relationships and inland monotony

This story brings to mind all the old horror movies like, Jaws, Orca, and The Beast from 20,000 Fathoms. It was a great listen and action packed and with a full cast narration just made it even more enjoyable! A perfect summer listen!

A fun listen!

This was the first time I've listened to an audiobook with dramatization. Not sure I was crazy about it, especially the first few minutes. But after a while I got used to it. I think I prefer just a narrator. But that's just a personal preference. As far as the narrators, they were spectacular. Especially the main one "telling" the story and I also loved the accented lady. I could listen to her all day.

I loved this story! it was so much fun and so scary. a real adventure but one you won't have to be afraid of the dark because you aren't in water while sleeping. The aquarium visits really blended in well with the story.

Scary adventure

Enjoyed it. Rich audio with narration makes this story fun to listen to. I have dove the Bahamas Blue holes and the writer does a good job describing those environments. But don’t take this story to seriously…

Excellent, fun.

Thw voice overs and sound effects are great. The story itself is pretty good, if a bit predictable. Typical monster movie behavior by characters who should probably know better. Not a lot of surprises, all things considered. My one real gripe is a minor spoiler :

They spend a decent chunk of time describing Dora, the ROV that they bring to explore the blue holes. Specifically, they mention that it has a waterproof keyboard and monitor on it, so divers can communicate with the operator. Near the end of the book, when Will and Ashley are trapped in the tunnel, and in the process of suffocating, Dora gets sent on, amd they make no mention nor effort to use the keyboard, even when Will picks it up to pan around and show the survivors. He would have to have seen it, ots described as being on the side of the ROV, but neither Will, nor Val or Mack use it. instead, Will uses hand gestures that the others need to interpret. This is probably the weakest part of the whole story.

Good equivalent to a B flick monster movie
